From 7.00 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. This is the venue at which we hold our popular indoor F/F meetings. The hall is not large enough for conventional shock flyers, but has proved suitable for smaller indoor R/C models.

The Swapmeet will accommodate all modelling disciplines:- Aircraft, Boats, Cars, Vintage and Modern Engines, Kits, Radios and accessories. Additionally there will be a small trade presence.

Several R/C flying clubs and flying associations have confirmed their attendance at the 2012 Northern Modelling Exhibition, sister show to the annual London event.

The Exhibition, at Manchester’s Event City, takes place from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th March and promises to be a major new showcase for the north.

Orgainisers are expecting superb scale by the hundred and of all types with live action in the Model Active Zone also. National and regional clubs will be participating as well as the specialist suppliers. The BMFA will be taking flight in the arena while Large Model Association members will be showcasing their finest aircraft alongside other models too. The Great EGG Bombing event!

The object of the event is to raise as much money as possible for the Trinity Hospice so come along for a very EGGCITING day!

Fly what you want (Fixed wing only please)!

Special prizes for the most spectacular EGG run, best JET EGG run etc.

Here are the rules :-

• Any fixed winged aircraft may be used.
• Safety is of paramount importance so each model will be subject to scrutineering, all pilots MUST provide proof of insurance.
• All entry fees will be donated to Trinity Hospice so please be generous with your entry fee.
• No meggchanical devices are allowed the EGG must be free to fall from a suitable container mounted on the aircraft. The objective is to hit a target on the flying field, so you’re flying must be eggsact.
• Each competitor shall have three eggttempts, the closest to the target wins.
• Each competitor shall provide their own eggs, or balloons (No hard boiled please).
• If the weather is fowl the event will move to the reserve date of Sunday 15/04/12, please check the club website for details.
• If you miss this one you really will have EGG on your face, so come along this isn’t your usually poultry fly in!

We're delighted to say that the Greenacres Club (Walsall, Birmingham) have again agreed to host our 2012 Summer Fly-in!

It'll take place over the weekend of 23rd and 24th June 2012 and there's more info at the club website (nice work Chris Bott).

For those who haven't been before - it's a general fly-in (not a show) with flying 'off the peg' all weekend. It's friendly, relaxed and informal.

We'll have some little fun prizes to give away and if you've designed your own model then why not bring it along, we'd love to see it. 

Camping is available too so just check out the Greenacres site for all the details.

It's great to meet up with friends old and new and this year we'll have the Vintage Mass Builders showing and flying their new models so, once again, it promises to be a great event, see you all there!

We hope to welcome the Dawn Patrol pilots with their historic WWI models and also the return of the stunning AR Parrot Drone, being right at the cutting edge of Wi-Fi aviation as well as all the fascinating attractions on the flight line including large scale, electric, Jets, helicopters, fun fly and even rocket launching!

With some subtle changes to the layout of the show, the boating area will become more of an exhibition area with attractions such as Static Models. RC Tanks, Tamiya Trucks, Daleks, robots, rockets and lots more, much of which will be under cover.

Our pilot and helper hospitality will be up to the same high standards and we also have a BBQ planned for Saturday night after the show.

Camping will be available on site free to all those pilots who fly in the display and at a rate of £10 a night for any none flyers.

Entrance fees to the show for spectators will be £4for adults, £2 for children or £10 for a family of four.

This is a working replica WW1 airfield and is also the home of where all the PB kits were tested in the 70's. It is hoped to be able to help the restoration of Stow Maries with this event by charging for entry along with a raffle.

Directions - By road, when travelling from the midlands, Welshpool is within one hour of the M6 Motorway via the M54. From the M54, take the A458 to Welshpool - don't go into the town itself, but take the ring road, onto the A483 to Newtown. From the A483 / A490 roundabout, take the A490. The airport is on your right, a few hundred metres down this road.

From the North, pick up the A483, and follow as above.
