Hi Timbo I suppose it depends on the exchange rate lol, the ESC is probably the same one you have found Super Simple 50, rated to 58A but I will not exceed 40A Running high voltage to keep that down(well thats the plan LOL) You wait till you see the servos $5 Hextronic 5010's for the flaps and rudder, £5.99 Futabas for ailerons and Elevator bought from Steve Webb, am linking the two elevators as two servos for an elevator is overkill, I know there are those that will say it is safer, what if one fails?? My friend had a massive glitch last evening that destroyed his model, he had a servo on every surface. The object of the exercise is to see how cheaply a reasonable sized model can be done electric. I am not saying Castle Creations ESC and AXI motors aren't great products, but for more of us general flyers to have a go they need to know that an error isn't going to cost them an arm and a leg, just a singed eyebrow or two Probably ought to start a seperate thread and not hog Shauns, sorry Shaun......

Yep, thats the one Please do start a seperate thread Danny, as I am sure very many people will follow this experiment with interest.
Don't worry too much Danny, this thread was pretty idle anyway.

Right OK got it now. I use lots of the Towerpro 5010s and find them very good. I have boughu 20 of them and all have been fine.
Hi Bruce, 6 kilo torque if spec is to believed too??
Yes good torque fast and with a ball bearing on the output shaft all for £3-4 depending on shipping costs. It would be rude not to try them
Me to I like the price and the Quality sounds to be good value for money
Shawn, nice job,so much so i went and bought me a kit from leedsmodelshop, wow i cant believe the quality for 99.99 amazing kit, but what i wanted to ask was where did you get the stand you used to hold the fus in your pictures? did you make it or is it off the shelf somewhere? cheers
IIRC it's a Protech field stand, but there's loads of alternative versions. Good luck with the build, it's easy and with a little imagination you can make a very nice scale model. If there's any advice you need, give me a shout.
Thanks, will do, i watched your build all the way and i got the decals from pyramid as well, i just cant decide on the colour? i like yours but i seen an original that was more of a blue colour...hmmmmm decisions decisions, ah OK i'll just use your build as a manual!! Off to look at field stands as i'm tight on space so anything that makes things sit nice will help.

Mine is very slightly wrong. The blue is dark sea grey and it should be extra dark sea grey. The correct colour is available from Warbirds ( www.fighteraces.co.uk)
Handy site to know thanks, just had a quick glance but i'll look a bit more thoroughly later. On the sea fury do you think a 26cc would be far too much?
Have a read of this. http://www.rcmf.co.uk/4um/index.php/topic,43934.0.html Then search that forum for Sea Fury as there are a load of highly detailed build threads (inc mine). Another by a guy called Charlie, was a major modification programme, that went way beyond mine. Sadly his retracts are now in mine as the model had a rather unsatisfactory end. Mine has an ASP 1.08 2 stroke in it and it's plenty of scale power. I'm not sure aout a 26cc petrol engine, but it seems a lot of modification would be needed.

Thanks for the advise !! i'll go check out the link.
When you're on Phil's website (Fighteraces) have a look at the gallery, page 2!
just waiting for a confirmation email so i can have a look at that site!!

Ah... I think he's away for a few days, taking a well earned break after building Ali's Sky Raider (did you see it at Weston?)
No, i'm new to this for the 3rd time, this time ive been using all the sims daily for months so hopefully i'll be a little better prepared, i take it weston is a show? hopefully i'll start going to all the flying shows starting next year. or maybe some this year if theres any still to go to.
Weston is a great show that happens every year at Weston Park, Staffordshire on Father's Day. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pxIAHncVIR8 There's Wings and Wheels today and tomorrow, but the next biggy for me is the LMA show at RAF Cosford in 3 weeks time. There's also the Nats & Top Gun amongst others.

Hi Steven, If you are interested in turning your Fury to the "dark side" I have converted the Seagull Fury to electric, goes well. I have used a fairly small motor only giving a thousand watts and shows that the model is light and doesn't need much power to fly it. Electric Fury conversion Danny
