Excellent, I'm sending you my next pilot to paint ......
Show/hide user stats
Thanks David. I've just noticed the photos show little patches of blue on his helmet. That's a camera thing, they're not there really.

sounds like a trip to the clinic may be in order

Shaun,

Pilot is very well painted in deed!.................. I've just noticed in the second pic on the thread you have blue spots on your finger too.....................Are you sure it's not something contagious

Walts.

Show/hide user stats

Walts, I think I'd better check for blue spots on my tongue too.......

The markings have arrived from Pyramid, and they are for the a/c flown by Lt Peter "Hoagy" Carmichael, the only British pilot to shoot down a Mig 15 in Korea from a piston engined a/c!

Still working, but there's very little to show at the moment. I am painting up the invasion stripes, but as they are white, it is taking many coats to cover the original colour over.

I have also fitted a Dubro refuelling valve.

There will hopefully be some pics later.

And here they are:

And a fake set of instruments made of two layers of plasticard and a sheet of acetate between. Better than the sticker.

Yeh, make sure ya fit a decent onboard glo of course, - wouldnt want her cutting out on you on finals now would you

Looking nice m8, I think I had better take you up on the offer of breakfast and attendance at the maiden

Very nice model and excellent job Shaun. Can you give details of engine and radio setup. Good luck for its maiden flight. Watch very carefully the tailplane as my Seagull Corsair tailplane broke in mid air but I managed to land it on what remained. Perfect landing. Mine got ASP 91 Mk II and futaba hi-torque sevos.

Hi Victor I have an ASP 1.08 2 stroke in the front, and I intend using standard Futaba S3003 servos primarily. I'll watch the tailplane.

Thanks Shaun. Good luck

Shaun, can you email me ASAP about the 2 GnG units you require, I need to know whether you are running 6V or 4.8V rcvr packs, and also the lead lengths you require on the LED and cell / plug leads.

Cheers...Tim.

Apologies to forum for using this contact method

And here's the finished result for the fuselage (wings tomorrow).

The wording is slightly lower than it should be, but that is in order to clear the pushrod exits.

Sorry Tim. I have, I'll let you know tonight.

Shaun,

That paint job is going to make this model look so much better than the stock version..................Very much worth the effort, nice one

 Walts.

I'm very pleased with it so far, although I mucked up the underside, forgetting to leave a gap for the serial numbers  Easily recified though, and then on with the build!

hi .

what paint did you use ? I have the same kit and want   to change the colour scheme.

Edited: 11/11/07 08:19
Show/hide user stats

I used the authentic colours by Warbird paints. As far as I know there is only one UK distributor
