I was there, but nobody else was! I made a contact with Jan pa3cjp on 80, who heard me calling, and came in to tell me I was putting a signal out, but that was it! Next time perhaps.

Eric I can`t get on the radio at night because of waking up my 4 year old son downstairs, perhaps if i can find a more convenient time we can try then, not much spare time at the moment. Chris MOMTS

You'll have to get him through the M3, then the boss cannot complain!
I have a similar problem the other way around, my shack is in the bedroom, so I cannot 'play radio' too early, or MY boss complains I'm spoiling her lie-in!

Hi Eric-I have just started on PSK31 ,seems to get around some of my problems.Good for early morning DXing. No worrying about waking anyone up. Chris
Monitoring 7 right now, a few Italians in the background, otherwise nothing! Noise floor down to s5.
 I was on 14.070 PSK31 a few americans coming in.are you into PSK 31?
No, sorry Chris, cw or ssb, I don't do data (or sstv!), although my 756p3 has a decoder built in.
All things being sort of equal, I'll try again tonight. The bands seem pretty quiet just now.
.JPG) Whups, I had an inadvertant kip and missed trying tonight, was tired after a very nice day. I should'nt be but am P'd off a bit, feeling that the bust ankle should be fine by now. Stupid I know, as I really know it will take quite a long time yet. 60+13 to you
7 was quiet, but 3.5 had a bunch of Italians jabbering away. Put plenty of calls out on 7, and nothing.... I'll not keep on posting, but I'll keep trying the frequencies at the weekends, the boss, contests and noise permitting.
Very strange! The usual base noise level has gone right down to almost nothing! It isn't an antenna fault, as Kinloss Rescue is booming through. Everybody must be watching the footie? I'm monitoring both of 'our' frequencies, just in case anyone wants to call 3.7125 and 7.080 lsb.

This will mean nothing to non-radio hams - 50 megs / six metres is open to Europe, fading slowly, so if you aren't on the air now, you've missed the opening!
I use a mobile phone, works great!
There's always one! What do you do, dial a random number, and see if it rings?
I can find out the number on shortwave.
I'm G4PHL but have no HF gear now, at least none that works! Used to enjoy QRP CW on homebrew 80m gear but moved on to UHF, was GB7PHL packet BBS for a few years. Been out of circulation for a lifetime but I keep the ticket going... Phil

Now you have triggered the itch, you will have to scratch it! Go on, you know you want to play with a radio!
