Mod's to P. Wilson's  plan, by the way, after obtaining almost all other plan's. his is as close as one can get, studing 3 veiws and all the pic's,most of the others seem to think that the nose outline"droops like a dolphin, Anyway,,....If you look at the pic of the rib root you can see that I have increased the "depth" by appox 25%, the Ft. spar is 3mm ply and the other spars are hardwood, 12x8mm and 6x4. The rest of the pic's show how the "box" section of the nacelles "slot" into the wing once it is top sheeted. The Ft. former is 6mm good quality ply, the rest are 3mm or 2mm.  By the way sorry about 2 images on each, Dunno, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   David,.... Help!!!    Barry

Antnee, you are correct. Moving on, the bottom of the wing is mostly flat ( centre section), on this airfoil section, plus the fact that a top surface "clean", looks good, all of the servo's can be positioned and leads fed through the"boxed" main spar, THe nacelles can be "slotted into place ( trial fit), BUT do not glue into place YET. Once all things were in place, that is, flap servo's and bellcranks, retract servo's, all of this must be done before the bottom sheeting is added. Layed flat on a good flat surface, there were no "twists", don't forget to add the outer wing tip brace's and servo lead exits before you sheet......... Pic's of the "flap movement , servo positions, nacelle hinge points" and geometery, will follow. As you can see, the transfer bellcrank sit at an angle to match up with the correct angle to push out the nacelle rear portion carrying the flap.  The servo inside is for the U/C .     Barry

Flap movement is via the servo located off in the wing section, push rod then couples up with the "angled "bellcrank, inside the nacelle. The other rod then is angled up to, just above/below( depending which way the wing is sitting), flap hinging rod.One of the pic's show a side view, you will see a little horn sticking out below the hinging rod. All of this takes time to set up, but if you don't do it now , it will not work correctly. The reason for the 2 servo's are off set to each other ,is so that they both have the same "push" angle. If you can find a reverse directional one then it can be moved up closer to the main spar. The next step is "set up" the wing, with engines in place, measure all the heights, making SURE that the thrust line is at 0 Deg to the wing "flight line"  and glue in the nacelles, adding all the gusset's you deem fit.           Barry

As you can see the  home made tank and fuel piping needs to in be in place before adding the bearer's for throttle servo's, I "stuffed" up here as the exhaust is on the other side, which I modifed later.  The on board glow starter (sullivan's) will also be under the hatch, beside the servo, shielded with a piece of tinplate. Barry

Hey Barry the Whirly bird is looking A1....................I know it can be a bit discourraging when you take the time and effort to document and photograph your build and it seems no one is showing any interest, But thats just the way forums seem to run. Believe me plenty of pepole are looking in we just haven't got anything 'useful' to contribute to this great build thread at the moment.

comments tend to pick up more though toward the end of a build when pepole start getting really excited at the prospects of the end result. Keep it coming mate, a very nice build of a model I have only ever seen built & flown once before. That was when I was a kid and it was a stunning sight to see in the air!

regards,

 Walts.
