Looking good. Can't wait to see some video.

 Good move IMO.
Next time he flies it I promise I'll only er... press the rec button on the vid camera once....
 been there, done that

Chris has also got a big bag of identical bits from UH, same motor, spinner, servos etc. hopefully when we do get a video it will be more impressive by showing two of Camm's finest in close formation PS the paint arrived from Phil Clarke of Fighteraces, ordered at midday and delivered the next morning, thx Phil I have already tickled some of the model with some scotchbrite and it looks as though a boring exercise will be reasonably quick. Now do you want a video in the old config/old colors, or can I move on???????

move on sir ...move on !
Danny, try and keep it flyable at all times, just in case we get a break in this infernal weather.. i.e. Dont have all the covering stripped off just as a High settles over the midlands lol
too late, motor, cells, ESC, retracts, allstripped out
well I have been busy with work and the restoration of a Cirrus Moth for a friend so I haven't really started on the Sea Fury makeover, but I have fitted the new bigger motor. as luck would have it, the holes I made to mount the 1/4 ply bulkhead to the fus used the exact same spacing as the motor cruciform!! so just removed old mount and motor, and dropped new one in. the cowl rear edge can now be shortened (After I check the C of G) it looks like I can lose 3" of the rear of the cowl that will make it more scale like in profile. What do you reckon to that 4" spinner, less than 5$
very nice. You'll need to paint it!
Yes I know Shaun, I have the paint, the spray gear, even the decals from Pyramid.........just no time
Well managed a quick 2.5 minutes in the garage................... The cowl was shortened by 60mm Much better proportions, and increases air outlet size scrap bits of grey solarfilm used to cover model joints, though the paint covered so well could have used another color Warbird colours from Phil Clarke of Fighteraces, great paint, need a bit more practice with it, but initial results are great. Will let the paint harden for a day then mask for the extra dark sea grey.Amazing what you can do in 2.5 minutes

Looks good. I used Tamiya masking tape and it didn't lift the paint (except on a very few minor spots). I am sure you mentioned it, but I assume you keyed the surface with Scotchbrite to get rid of all the shine?
yep scotchbrited til completely matt. I left some normal masking tape on the underneath of the wing for 24 hours as a test then peeled it off, no paint lifted, so it looks like the stuff sticks to the proverbial You said it brushed well? well it sprays just as good as anything I have used It flashes off quick so whatever you do set the biggest loudest alrm clock to 30 mins and clean the gun BEFORE the timer goes off. The stuff sets rock hard and is difficult to shift even with celly thinners. I have been scouring the web for a 3/4 length 1/7 th pilot and I just cannot find anything I have ordered the same guy as you have, will put the cockpit floor back in and sit him on that. Shame cos if you remove the floor there is nothing restricting a full depth cockpit Maybe I am losing the plot...... see I told you, you mustn't get attached, then you are afraid to fly em LOLOL

Snook out to the garage for another 2.5 minute session. That warbird paint is awesome when sprayed. Not one paint lift ! Might sneak the odd decal on tomorrow Has anybody seen pictures of the 50's fury's in this colour scheme WITHOUT the NATO stripes, can I leave em off????
There must be. I haven't seen any FAA ones, but there must be. Looking very cool BTW
Thanks Shaun, it takes alot to pull me away from celulose but this paint is good.
Danny that looks brilliant. Really must start (and finish) mine. Trust you have some paint left ?
The paint ,even using a car touch up gun didn't really go everywhere and covers really well. The paint comes in little half pint pots (about £7 each I think) I used a third of the Duck egg, and about a quarter of the extra dark sea grey. bring it over and we will give it the works
OK thanks - I promise to do the videoing properly next time too.. Very soon by the look of things?
