Hi guys. I bought a FCO about 5 months ago and put it to one side and promptly forgot it. I have now dug it out and decided to charge it. I plugged it into a USB socket, switched it on and the computor recognised it etc. But the charging light didn't come on. I thought it was meant to start red and go green once fully charged. The light works because it came on when I videoed the cat, so what's wrong here? Why doesn't it come on, or am I doing something wrong? If it's cream-crackered, how can I tell the amount of charge it's holding?

I think, from memory, the steady red light indicates charging, and just goes off altogether when full. It flashes red when in video mode.

hers a link to the manual which seems to confirm this.fc1

That's what I thought. It seems to be charging but without any light indications....

Seems a little odd.

I sent my second one back after the slide switch broke on second use.

6 emails later and nothing but empty promises from the retailer  - I have given it up as bad job....will shop with my feet as far is this guy is concerned, no names, but robots and bipedal, endothermic, vertebrate animals that lay eggs comes to mind

Probably wont bother with the flycam 2 version, has a few problems of its own I believe

If a second hand version 1 came along at the right price, I would possibly get it.

Bought mine second hand for £10. Seems a bargain

Blasted thing! After a 5 hour charge and testing at home, I rushed to the field and strapped it to my Air Blaster (which flew well). After a few circuits and aeros I gleefully grabbed it only to find the light was off. I took it home and the results are below.

Nothing, nada, nil, zilch! Bloomin' thing. Can I change the battery? Can I bump start the blasted battery?

probably yes....with extreme care

probably not.

I've got a FCO 2. Initially, I had trouble with it - it would switch itself off in mid air. Something to do with the cold I think. Then the battery would run out completely after 3 flights.

I've now hooked up a receiver battery to power it in flight, and it works really well. I took a futaba switch harness, and swapped the red and black wires on the RX plug. This fits into the socket on the FCO mount, and powers the camera nicely.

Well, I've got it working, sort of. So here's the first look.
