Hi Jamie. I cannot help with the flying clubs in Suffolk, as I'm in Cheshire!
All these ARTF models claim they will fly straight from the box, but that is a load of cobblers! In the hands of a skilled flier, they can be persuaded to fly, but the power, as is, tends to be marginal, which means they fly too slowly, which means they crash. Plus they will not be trimmed out to fly straight, which means that they crash!
If you read the engine instructions, it probably says will fly from a .19 to a .40. That means a .19 will allow it to taxi around the carpark!
I always say to put in the biggest engine that will fit, you can always throttle back once the model is up in the air.
Please read the 'Beginners start here' thread before you spend any money. You need insurance more than anything else!!!
Learning on your own is never easy, because you don't know if it is you who is doing something wrong, or the radio that isn't working right, or the model that is doing something funny, or just the wrong weather conditions!
Don't be scared of asking questions, but please read through all the threads on the forums first, as you may well (ptrobably will!) find the answer there!
