Flying Update! Or sort of Not-flying update. Time: Early Morning. The place: The Taxi-way at RAF Leeming. The wind: Calm. The scene is set. And so, with the engine idling, my Dads friend Tony taxis the Extra out, points it into wind, and opend the throttle. The ailerons which I did think were very small are actually very responsive, and it flicks onto one wingtip, the the other, and then back again. The engine fortunately stopped, and we went to see what the problem was. The spat was chipped, the prop tip is in pieces, and the engine, fuel tank, firewall and servo arm were at least six feet away form the fuselage. Hmmmmm. Back to the drawing board! We are now in the process of fixing it, don't worry. The cowl is fine, as we didn't put it on in the first place. My friend Steve could be telepathic. Don't worry, everyone! Carlos the German Shepard is fine.
