Now the lid won't close.

You will now find the lid will not close. Don't panic. Take a sharpe stanley knife to the plastic formers in the lid a bit at a time cut it away its quite soft to clear the top and handel of the bottle as shown above. This proceedure does not have any noticeable effect on the strength of the lid (honest)
