 - or in English, radio contacts.. If there are any licenced radio ham model fliers reading this, I usually monitor 3.7125 lsb after 2130 sat and suns. (+/- qrm). If you fancy a chat, and not a 'rubber stamp' qso, tune in. (Find me in qrz).

.JPG) Hi Eric, poor news. I powered up only to find the recent gales have done my aerial no good at all. It might be some time before I repair it due to my leg being in plaster. Looking forward to a QSO with you sometime. Bob

I'm on most weekends at this time, so any time, Bob. If you had filled in your profile, I'd know if you were in range of gb3mn (Stockport) or a simplex on 2, 4, or 6! The callsign might help - 2e0dto.

The frequency is busy this sun, so I'll try again next week.

AArgh! Another contest. One day I'll pick a free frequency! It gets up my nose when the station says, over and over, G something say again, say again, five and nine! cq contest qrx? F6 go, F6 say again, five and nine. etc. (To any non ham radio readers, who think that's a load of gibberish, it IS! sort of, its an abbreviated internationally recognised speech form that means the signal is strong and clear, but if the listener cannot hear, how can it be!?) Anyway, back to aeroplanes...

.JPG) Hi Eric, Yep, flamin' stupid behaviour init! Listened in for a few minutes that weekend, wall to wall contesters behaving stupidly. By the way I used to be a serious contester too, especially on VHF Field Day (this is daft too, as it is a 48Hr event) I was a founder member of "The Highland Contest Group" using the club call GM0FRG/P. We did quite well . Got older with duff hearing so stopped contesting Will try again tonight although i have not heard much from your area recently. I am at Fort William, just below Ben Nevis.
OK, then, as 80 seems to be more or less permanently full of contesters, I'm trying a provisional frequency of 7.080 +/- qrm for next weekend. At the moment I've got s10 of noise, but no chatter, so it's looking better. It would be interesting to find out how many model fliers are also radio hams. SW listeners are also welcome to tune in, and pass comment either via email or via the message board.

.JPG) You got more hair than me Mr Bray, unless thats an old pic I'll leave the punters wondering "what pic" . 80 very noisy here too, HI, Rusper, go on, get it warmed up again. You know you want to. Bob

.JPG) The way the pic came out, I like. Much slimmer looking.

Ah, you've seen me on 'Z', Mr flytilbroke. Genuine recent pic, undoctored. Slightly greyer now, but not silver or shiny, yet!
Four, now! Chris Small owned up, too, in the - my battery won't charge/electric thread.

Hi Eric, Just noticed this thread. I'm G4WFT, though only active on VHF/UHF (70 cm mostly). It's nice to know there are a few of us interested in model flying too though! Cheers, Tim.

Hi to you, too Tim. (How about filling in your profile!?)
to quote - I don't beleive it! - there's a flaming 7 meg contest on, and 9a8m from croatia is splattering all over my chosen frequency!!!

Hi Eric-Hoping to get back on the radio soon, not much spare time at the moment,we have two 4 year old twin boys keeping us busy (one has severe Autism) My radios are-Icom 706 Mk2 g , Icom 2100h ,Kenwood TM702E ,and a Kenwood TH F7E dual band hand held. I have just set my 706 up for PSK 31,but not had any replies yet. Hoping to put a mains cable in this weekend with my tractor and mole plough, to go up to our repeater Gb3vn .480 meters alltogether,G4OYX Dave has done most of the work along with G4AIJ Glyn. we put the mast up last September with a wind turbine, but it wouldn`t charge the batteries,so we decided to switch to mains.
