
I've always used solarfilm hinges on anything smaller than six feet span/3kg. When you get to the hinge bit, I always tacked them into place with scraps of film, then when the main sheet goes on, I deflect the ail fully, ie 180 up (assuming top-hinged), or as far as it will go down, shrink on the OPPOSITE side, holding in absolute max deflection, then the same for the other side. That way you have an efficient, sealed, hingeline, which is free to move, yet perfectly aligned.
