Forum Updates - Help Guide

Hi everyone,

I'm a new young member to this website and a beginner to the Blade CX2. This is my first heli and I need some help with it! I bought it about 3 weeks ago and my first problem is that the heli leans backwards by itself (even when not flying).  This is really annoying as when hovering the heli keeps moving backwards (the hose tilts backwards) and its hard to control it.

Secondly, the heli doesn't hover as high as it used to. When the left stick is all the way up it only hovers about 4 feet. I have no idea why this happens.

Any help or ideas will be useful.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Harry. you will find loads of help on the forum. is your battery moving backwards as this affects the centre of gravity, is your swash level? check the locking collar on the inner shaft is tight, is your batt fully charged? hope this helps. Kevin

The swash level is correctly in place but even without a battery it tilts backwards.

Thhanks for the help though Owen an Davies

Hi, does the heli looks like it is titled backwards when it is placed on a flat surface? If so I can only think that one of the carbon rods that holds the body on is not going through the inner mechanism where it should or the skids are not pushed in all the way at the front. Any chance of a picture?

Without the battery, the balance will be all wrong!

I don't know the 'blade', as I don't have one, but ALL heli's should balance at the rotor shaft.  Turn the main blades so they are fore and aft. That puts the flybar paddles to left and right. Hang it from a loop of thread around the shaft, and the body should be level.

Lack of height while hovering can be many things, first off, charge the battery!

Second, have you damaged a battery cell, so you don't have enough volts? (The radio will still work, but there will be less power).

Third, have you damaged the blades by crashing into something? Chipped or cracked blades create more drag, which need more power to overcome.

Have you damaged the shafts, either the inner or outer, so that one is rubbing on the other?

Have the motors been overheated? This will weaken the permanent magnets, which causes a loss of power, as well!

Eric, just dangled my CX-2, mine will balance with or without the battery when dangled from the flybar so the battery must be central(ish) to the CoG, it must be something pretty fundemental as the body is very light weight, it balances without the body on just the same with or without the battery.

Hari, are you using a standard battery? If so is it going all the way to the stop at the front when you fit it?
