I remember watching this live, it would have killed the person due to the size of it ! **LINK**

Thread: Thought I'd got the right motor.

I've had a rummage round this afternoon and found some brass fuel tube which is a good fit yes

I could but maybe the spinner supplied with the glider was a cheap thing. Before I do that I will check to see what other props require for a bolt size. The alloy spinner has 2.2mm bolts why are they all odd sizes angry

My lovely new spinner turned up but is it too big ?img_2675.jpg

The other thing my motor spindle is only poking through 9mm, I am tempted to file out the centre so the spinner can move back but are those slots in the metal disk for cooling ?

Also the screws are slightly different diameter giving the props sloppy movement, has anyone filled and re drilled the holes before ?

Another vote for Clearcoat yes

Thread: New Laser engines. What do you want?

I tend to run 2 clunks plus a vent, it was that thin tube that's supplied that folded back so I got rid for some that just flops to the tank bottom without folding with the weight of the clunk.

Never heard of them "Radio Active "but I'll have a look yes I think I'm becoming a laser convert. I like the way you can strip them down, even adjusting the valve tappets is a pleasure to do. I bet that back plate can be a sod if you get a really stuck one though.

I got one of those dubro fuel tanks with the extra lip under the fuel bung in my Astrohog, had a few dead sticks which was caused by the weight getting trapped in the front. I now fit stiffer tubing inside the tank.

Thread: Ebay sellers...

Thankyou gentlemen yes there is one on eBay but it's pickup only.

Could someone tell me what would be an average price for a Sig Liberty Sport 57" kit. I've seen a couple for sale but don't really want to get my fingers burnt.

Thread: Forum members' new models: Let's see them.

Now I'm getting depressed, puts my models to shame crying

A thing of beauty yes

Thread: New Laser engines. What do you want?

laugh thanks for the tip. I just took the other engines head off so now I will leave them to soak up white spirit for a while. Then compare the stroke and bores, I have some paperwork that came with it showing details of different motors.

07/12/2017 12:35:25

Well there is no way I dare try running mine if I free them off without a strip down, I've had the dirty one soaking overnight in brake fluid. The head and back plates off and now soaking in white spirit, the exhaust pipe has gone back in brake fluid which is eating the crud off. it's slow going but it won't turn alloy black like caustic cleaners would.

I should have taken a picture of the fuel tank, 1/2 " of black gunk inside. Rotting fuel bung rubber with a touch of corroded brass weight and tubes. Good job the wife was out when I cleaned them in the kitchen, the smell lingered, she thought I'd been house diy painting blush

06/12/2017 06:36:05

yes I'll have a look inside both to see if they are jammed or gummed up. Nice to know parts are still available in the UK laugh

05/12/2017 19:04:52

The dirty ones out of an old biplane and I thought with a little work it would be a nice winter hack ( wishful thinking ) and the other might go into my very old Astrohog to replace a gutless Os 61 fs.

05/12/2017 18:57:30

They are just stamped on the edge of mounting flange, dirty one has (T F L), clean one has (K T F). I had a look on the Laser website and I couldn't see any gasket sets I think I'm gonna need some laugh
