The full size WW1 Fokker D7 would prop hang. So a hurricane prop hanging could be scale.

Thread: Fuel tank setup
12/05/2018 19:36:20

The piping on the clunk is too stiff leaving the clunk in clear air while inverted, or clunk is catching on the end of the tank and failing to drop down in to the fuel at the bottom of the loop.

There is a British Film made in 1955 called 'Hobsons Choice' which tells the tale of a successful shoemaker and his reluctance to see his three daughters married because he would be losing free labour.

Filmed in Manchester, in one scene set in a park, John Mills and Brenda de Banzie are walking out together (as they used to say). They are sitting on a bench by a river, but you can't see the river because of a layer of foam covering the water.

I have before me a cutaway drawing of Hurricane Mk 1 by 'The Aeroplane' magazine, very detailed, it would be worth anyone getting hold of a copy.

Thread: D H Drover
07/05/2018 23:52:29

It was on the telly the other night about the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Australia and a De Havilland Drover was featured. This three engine aircraft was a development of the DH Dove a twin engine light airliner.

The Drover was designed for operation in the out back by Qantas and the Flying Doctor service.

They were first built using DH gypsy engines in a Tiger Moth style cowling, but they were later re-engined with Continental engines. The Gypsies not being quite up to the job.

I have long loved this aircraft but nobody seems to have modelled it, at least I can't find any plans or kits. It's just that it would make a delightful three engine electric model.

I have seen one in a museum (full size) and there is a restored Gypsy engine type flying in Australia.
