Thread: FIAT G50 WW2 Warbird
Well almost 4 year from the last post and the Fiat is still not finished.
But its back on the building board, so time for a little update and how knows will it ever get finished.
Thread: Sonny 1500 retro glider RCME April 2016
Geoff , great that the boom is straight and Max thanks for the advice.
Advised RBCkits to enlarge the dihedral to 80mm on both sites and that should be enough.
Its measured kind off from my proto Sonny, but that's kind off difficult to measure because the mainspar sets round because of the covering.
So my wing was set to 52mm both sites, but went on going to 80-90mm because of the covering bend.
Maybe the 104mm would be a little much, but the turn's will than be even smaller for very narrow thermals.
Iam sure that will work as good as with the insert , don't forget to enlarge the dihedral by 2x as mentioned on the drawing.
Please post some pics of your build.
Thanks for the pics Geoff the Sonny is looking great.
Sorry to see the tail is not strait will you try to correct that, or will you leave it like this.
You could submerge it in water and straiten it on the board and let it dry for a few days.
Would love to see some pics of your build.
For the wing best is to make the dihedral twice as much as on the plan.
Thread: RBC kits, Avia BH3
For some reason I missed this post
Yes would love to see pics of your Avia and is it flying already
Thread: RES-Eagle Glider RCME March 2018
Thats great and look forward to see some pics of your RES-Eagle.
Hi Steve, made some more pics hoping this will make it more clear.
For as far I can see is it a pulltruded tube because I don't see a woven structure.
And yes it could be that a woven tube could be the better option.
To be honest not by me, I like it the way it is.
But yes I think RBC is planning on making also an E-version.
You can modify anything to make it fit, but why should you do that.
Build them both and enjoy them both, that's the best option.
Or use the RedEagle as a tow plane for the RES-Eagle that's even more fun.
Great to know the kit has arrived and looking forward to many build pics.
Was thinking about the same idea for using on a model.
Was thinking about gluing a magnet in the rib at one side and the other side a metal ring as you mention also in a rib.
Although the tape is not a bad and easy option because I only use a small piece at the leading edge.
The kit is ready at RBCkits
Great, look forward to your build pics.
Forgot to mention the glue Iam using for the complete model HK type insta-cure+
And when Iam trying to be patient Iam using the slower HK type HC-50-1100C and the thinner version.
Sorry that will be my mistake, because on the file I told RBC it should be 4mm, but on the drawings its 6mm.
But to be honest 4mm is a better choice, because you will have to send less and only need to make the chamfer from the rib to the trailing edge.
Here is a detail of how it will finally look like on your model when its sanded into shape.
Hope the pic makes it all clear.
Hoping to make it more clear here a little detail on the reinforcement.
This is how it should look like with a 6mm spar.
Here is the detail on my RES-Eagle which is with the 4mm spar and reinforcement on top.
Yes it looks like the scale of the servo is not correct, because it should be a 9 gr servo. Thanks for mentioning.
Here's a pic to show you, more pics later.
No the leading edge will stay the same 4mm.
Will come back on the two rods.
For all, the file for the 6mm rod is send to RBCkits so ask for the modified version of the RES-Eagle.
