While Graham is dosing up on Valium, I've solved the problem of version numbers. There is an option at the bottom of the Radio Profile in Edit Settings. See second tick box from bottom:

Doh Doh Dohblush

Just switched on after a little charge, system now working. With All this trying out over the last few days I have drained the battery. (because system not working, I was not able to see the battery status).

Tonight it will have a good charge. After that - sort out the original problem - eu or non eu , receivers etc.

Thanks to everybody for your time spent so farbeer, very much appreciated.

Ah! I think I hear the sounds of a solution approaching! Which I'm very glad about, because I was beginning to wonder what else could possibly be wrong!

Well spotted, team! Hopefully Graham will now be able to get his system up and running in a proper fashion!

Cheers,

Pete

Good evening all,

Having got back a working Tx with a basic setup what's next?

Do I need to build a load that includes Eu and the other bits I left off.

I haven't tried any of my receivers yet

Graham

Hi Graham.

No, don't do a build that includes Eu. Confusingly, all that would do would be to disable D8 mode which you need for D series and V Series receivers.

I think you should test your receivers and let us know what works and what doesn't.

We can then deal with upgrading Tx and X Series receivers to EU-LBT. This only affects X series receivers.

Seconded - try and bind your RXs as per instructions and if they don't work come back here for advice. Updating the module and RXs is actually easier now you are on a more recent version of OpenTX though.

Remember to keep the Tx at least 1 metre from each RX when binding, and do use a fully charged receiver battery. That last bit caught me out once!

There's a nice video here showing how to flash receivers using Taranis.

Just REMEMBER though - it is not a standard cable, the wiring is different at each end.

...to be specific, you need to swap the red and black cables on the end that goes into the TX module slot.

Here is FrSky's own guide from their website with lots of pictures.

No response for quite a few days. Hmmm......

1. He's selling his Taranis on ebay

2. He's gone for a long lie down.

3. Given up flying and taken up flower arranging.

4. It actually worked, now he's on p78 of the manual.

5. Still waiting for a doctor's appointment for some sedatives.

Morning all,

A darkened room was certainly needed. Spent some time on Sunday going through some of my receivers and also getting reaqainted with the Taranis. So far I have only 1 rx that won't bind - X6R. I guess that this one needs a change of firmware.

Graham
