Can't fault the choice you've made, looking forward to building it and seeing the variety others come up with. smiley

Two wings to build, i like that

Don't like building the fuzz usually, but this one has some nice touches to make it more interesting.

Mines gonna be built to imperial dimensions none of them mm's for me, my shopping list comes to £25 ish which is for the fuselage sides and wing sheeting plus some for later.

Right then time to make a start.

Will be made with a few minor alterations that suit how i like to build, inset ailerons and looking to save weight where possible especially at the back end.

F2 will be moved back a bit to mount motor on threaded rod, easier to fit up and adjust thrust that way if you're like me and not much cop with a ruler, motor not chosen yet but i like mine to go a bit.

Most of it will come out my scrap box so size of materials will stray from the plan at times, upper rear stringers may get reduced in numbers to save a bit of weight, but not at the cost of looks.

Ailerons may get a servo each, depends how i feel when i get there, elevator/rudder a decent mini should sort those.

First job is trace formers and ribs out, old fashioned or cheapskate ? well by the time i've been staples n back job could've been done. wink

Hi John,

As I just subscribed to your build, I hope you'll gratify your readers with a few 'extras' like a laminated fin a stab LE, laminated wing tips, dual servos for the inset ailerons, a closed loop for the rudder and, of course, a 'Lycoming 6 cyl. type' glass fiber cowl to close the front end... wink

I now just hope I got 'my spelling' right...

Cheers

Chris

I'm watching with interest. Good luck with this one, should be a nice model. I like biplanes, but I can't squeeze this one in with everything else going on!

Dear John,

I really think you are definitely "slacking" now.

Please stop that 'champagne' diet right away and start considering yourself as the Godfather of the 2017 Mass Build... even without any "dummy engine" involved. devil

Cheers

Chris

Hurray! Another one who start cutting light ply. It felt a bit lonely for a "mass build".

Do you have a sketch of your idea of the inset ailerons. I could not make them to look better then Lindsay's, so I settled on shortening them spanwise a bit.

Happy building,

Lucas

I will show it later on Lucas, much the same as our Ballerinas though. And yes the masses are thin on the ground face 1

Hi John,

So, we'll see some balsa get bashed very soon now. yes

Glad for you, young man.

Cheers

Chris

ps: ... I remember you didn't like my Lycoming proposition for your engine, but then maybe a 'smallish' Wasp 7 cylinders would be better for you? ... wink

Ribs ready for the off, nowt technical in my sandwich method, just push some long pins in n off you go, spars slots all in line, any minor faults won't show under sheeting n cap strips.

Are you planning a 'triplane', John?

It looks like you have enough ribs to supply the Belgian Air Force... wink
