Finished my Micro Blitz tonight yes she's ready for maiden

Running on 2s @ 40w so that works out about 100w per lb so should go ok.

Here's my install with 2s 450mah lipo

Since I completed my Micro Blitz a few days ago and haven’t managed to maiden it yet I thought I’d get straight on with building the Mini Blitz too yes The build will be the same as the Micro using an extra rib to sandwich the fins in between. Next time I build either of these models I’m just going to make solid sheet wings as will save a lot of hassle and with brushless motors the extra weight will be cancelled out with loads of POWER wink

img_20180210_175826.jpgimg_20180210_175844.jpgHi this delta is a little bigger about 30in span and just needs the clevis fitting , reflex setting , as the Mini had about 3mm reflex what suggestions for this 40% bigger version ? . I calculate it's got about 175watts per pound so shouldn't be underpowered all up weight including battery 1lb 6oz so not hugely heavy but is beefed up here and there . Good weather and we will see what she can do ! Got the local print shop to enlarge the A1 to A0 plan and Bobs your mother's brother .m

Maidened yesterday. Needed three attempts to have it fly for more than 3 secs! Nose heavy threw it to the ground and no expo contributed to that.

Firewall became detached on the second flight and after gluing it back on with Q-Bond (impressive stuff) from a fellow aeromodeller and 70% expo on all surfaces managed almost a full circuit. When head-on for landing I became disoriented as it was farther than I thought (it goes fast) and it is really small. Went down for a tough landing. Needs a nose job, but other than that, everything survived in good shape. Maybe next week it'll be back.

A strong word of caution: don't it go away more that 200ft unless you have near-perfect eyesight! Less than that is even better.

Unfortunately, no pics were taken with the model flying.

Before maiden flight - all smiles by now!Just before maiden

As you can see, we don't have grassy areas as those found in the UK. I have added a ski underneath the fuselage. Nonetheless, four flights and four props destroyed.

Set your esc so that the prop doesn’t freewheel, that will stop them getting broken

To show the size difference, here's my finished Micro and part built Mini. The rear of wing is lined up with one another.

Got a bit bored this morning!

Just need to sort out the electrical side of things.

Can someone please suggest a setup that is available from "Hobbyking" that will give me decent performance.

I know next to nothing about electric set up's.

Thoughts on these and what size prop would I need.

Servo's https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hxt500-micro-servo-0-6kg-0-08sec-6-2g.html

Thanks for looking.

I would be very wary of a motor with a 2mm shaft, they bend too easily.

I pinched a motor from a quad, E-Max MT1806/2280kv which has a proper 5mm prop driver and takes 5030 size on 3s but this is probably a bit ott. We shall see.

I decided against that motor as it probably would not be man enough.

Have gone for a quad motor. The one on the new "Bonsai."

Again probably OTT, but only time will tell.

Ready for the maiden.

Took a long while to get the CofG, so finger crossed.

Looking at the weather forecast it is unlikely to be in the next few days.
