Under-carriage

I have a Black Horse Chipmunk 65inch wing span and powered by a Saito 82 f/s. In the air the aircraft performs very well , however, the only weankness I have encountered is with the landing gear. Although I fly from a well kept flying grass field the undercarriage after a number of reasonably good landings is clearly far from robust enough for the purpose. Has any body had similar problems or recommendations to correct/modify this weakness for what is very good aircraft. The main issue with the under carriage is that they are bendy and wobbly at the u/c wing mounting,
Thanl you.
Rgds

1849 forum posts | HI Alan Looks like you are quite new here. So welcome to the friendly forum. 2 club members have this model. I think one of them has enlarged the hole in the U/C block and fitted some brass tubes the correct internal diameter for the U/C legs. This has made them a lot less wobbly. Not sure if this is the same problem you have. Please explain what is wrong with your U/C so that people can provide better answers. Edited By Bruce Richards - Moderator on 09/11/2009 09:19:10 |
