I've used this site before and the plans are very good, as a bonus the copy shop can plot out the PDF files to any size you want. I've just dowloaded the Phantom and Big Lazy Bee Cheers, Chris |

While it may seem to duplicate outerzone (some of the outerzone plans came from there to begin with) there is a lot of other detail and also tech info on different things
For scale builders - would you believe the original Sopwith factory blueprints for the Pup? |

2428 forum posts 34 photos | Got a spot of bovver wiv me laptop and windows 7, if I leave it for more than five minutes it loses the internet connection and I have to close down and reboot to get it back, leave it for a few minutes and it will do it again. Been trying to fix this for weeks now, I remember seeing something about Win.7 closing down hardware that isnt being used to conserve battery power, I rarely use the laptop away from home so dont need this but now I cant find where I saw it to stop Win 7 closing the wireless adaptor if this is what is happening and if it isnt I have run out of ideas and options. Anybody know where I can find this elusive little check-box to try it out?.

2428 forum posts 34 photos | Not sure when it was working OK Ken as I only bought it about 2 months ago and it has had this problem all along, it came from Curry's/PC World so if I cant sort it they can have it back. Not sure what has happened with the formatting on my computer as I have the old problem of adverts over the message boxen, cant see how my little b&w photo of a Raven 3m could cause it as its only 60k and 350x51 px. |

2428 forum posts 34 photos | Hiya Daith, will nip downstairs and find me Hp box-of-tricks and try it out, thanks mate.
Well, made sure the box was unchecked to eliminate that posibility and it still lost the wireless connection after about 4 minutes, closed it down completely and fired it up again and no connection, but this computer using a Labtech adaptor just sails on. The two computers side by side, one is working perfectly and the other is an ornament, looks like a firm phone call is needed tomorrow and they can sort it out because I have had enough of it. If so there is a power management option available on the bottom bar, in the bottom right of the screen looks like a battery, click it and then click customise power options and you will be able to set it to turn on and off depending on the profile in use.

2428 forum posts 34 photos | Very strange happening while working on the resurection of an Easyglider, someone said that if you warm the foam that Easyglider's are made from then any small dents etc will expand and come out, be warned DONT try it unless you want Alligator skin. What happens is that the moldings that look nice and smooth must get that way by heat and pressure, by heating without the pressure the beads resume their normal state and expand individually not en-mass. this gives an excellent imitation of lizard skin, I had a patch of it when I tried it. I sat looking at it wondering if I could rub it down or whatever then an idea germinated the results of which,if it works out, I will put a photo or two up later next week, right now its in the spray shop.......... |

Well, new car collected. Hyundi i30, slightly smaller boot than the focus, but bigger if the seat are down. looks very BMW 1 series like.....if you squint.... My Missus had a problem with her Punto, at first it was intermittent and lost power with the engine light coming on. It was just like it was only running on two cylinders. so I took it to a garage who said one half of the coil pair was faulty, then they said it was worse and the engine management unit was faulty. The upshot is that I brought her another car and now have to scrap an otherwise perfectly good car with only 63 K on the clock from new. Other than the management unit fault it would have been an excellent first car for someone. Cheers, Chris. |

557 forum posts 14 photos | Did you check the local scrap yards to see if there was a working unit in one that had been an insurance write-off? I've done that a few times and usually got lucky |

2436 forum posts 947 photos | Hi Daithi, The problem with these things today is that they have to be programmed to the car ie key set, immobiliser, alarm and so on and the only way to do this is to have a full diagnostics kit to have the unit reprogrammed. That's a main dealer job and to do the work they want to sell me a new unit at £750 plus the fitting and reprogramming, so it's going to be over a grand. It's probably a way of getting any motor over 7 or 8 years old off the road. The old motor is in perfect condition with a full service history, has just had a new head gasket, full service last month with 6 months tax and a 12 month MOT and has done a genuine mileage of 63K from new. With second hand motors the way they are at the mo I can get a low mileage 4 to 5 years old full spec model from a dealer for two and a half to three grand so it's a no brainer. I'd give the thing away for free if someone wanted to repair it especially someone who wanted a cheap first car, but it's not worth me repairing it. Cheers, Chris. 2467 forum posts 123 photos | Chris, If you are willing to give it away try listing it on freecycle - failing that sell it to a breakers and get what you can for it. |

2428 forum posts 34 photos | Thats the one big problem now with shortage of money, cost of petrol and everyone feeling the squeeze, we got so used to the so-called 'throw-away society' where if its busted dont fix it - buy another one. Problem is we cant afford to throw rgings away now but getting them fixed is nigh on impossible because either spares and/or knowledge is just not available, vehicles have become so techno its practically impossible to fix them without a mass of electronics gizmos and special tools. In the 60's I could pull down a BL A-series engine, recondition the thing including rebore and have it back in the chassis in two days, it takes me that long to top up the levels now.

557 forum posts 14 photos | I know where you're coming from there Terry - I used to be a service manager for a TV repair/rental company here but saw the writing on the wall (and switched to computers). 20 years ago to replace a set of heads in a VCR cost me £20 for a replacement drum (and that was trade price), then time for setting up, good cleanup and so on. Nowadays nobody would spend 20 quid on a repair - they'd just go buy a new one for 40 |
