| 260 forum posts 5 photos | Spektrum. I have a DX7 and a collection of DSM2 receivers and haven't had any of the problems reported in this forum. Maybe I've been lucky but I'm not about to rush out and spend £300+ on a DX8 when the DX7 does everything I need. Maybe in a year or two's time. A clubmate bought a DX8 and had problems binding it to some of his receivers, I think he got it sorted eventually because I've seen him at the field flying with his DX8..When I was on 35MHz I exclusively used Futaba but was put off by the high price of their receievers when I went 2.4. Other people at the field used Spektrum without problems so that's what I went for. |

Moderator 9686 forum posts 1262 photos 728 articles | Each poll has it's own thread and the poll for radio brands is at the top of this thread, if all you can see are results then you've already voted. |

6396 forum posts 374 photos | Must admit it has passed me by this one, yet it was only the 17/7/2011 when it was started. You move to fast for us retirees. It is interesting that Sanwa is probably less than &% of the market now. When I last modeled about 20 years back I guess, they were a significant player. I do wonder if Graupner and Jarama are really interested in the UK market. If they are they need to try a lot harder. |

Moderator 9686 forum posts 1262 photos 728 articles | I don't think Sanwa have ever been a significant player in the UK although the brand is set to become a real rarity as it's no longer distributed here.

i ve used futaba for over 40 years { from single channel up!} you only get wot you pay for!! I've used Futaba, Digifleet, Multiplex and Spectrum, out of all them the Digifleet had the longest use and never let me down. Screen stopped working on my Futaba FF6 (and Tx battery life was pants), Cockpit Sx was subject to a recall and Spectrum Dx6i has had a few broken trim levers. 6396 forum posts 374 photos | Radios are much the same as most consumer goods, in general whilst they work, there is little to choose between them. Particularly now. Gone are the days when you would regularly send your radio in for a service, perhaps the tuning coils tweaked, pots cleaned.Modern sets are in general reliable. To the extent, they do not seem worth sending for repair. To some extent Franks experience is a little surprising to me. Although members of our club have had problems with Spektrum radios, in general it was the battery holder that was the issue and one unreliable on off switch. Looking at the sales chart, I do wonder if the budget for some manufacturers advertising, pays for itself in sales. Companies such as Jamara, Graupner, Jetti, Planet do not even register. Yet I know some sales are made as I see a Jetti quite often, at least one or two of the manufacturers such as Corona and FRsky and conversions. Are there enough results to draw any trends etc? |

6396 forum posts 374 photos | So interpret the data for me, BEB. It seems that Futaba are well ahead, dominant. Spektrum have come from nowhere. But are these a reflection of current sales, or historic data? |

| 45 forum posts | Started out on Futaba. Switched to Spektrum 2.4 module in a Futaba 8UAPs. What a piece of junk the Spektrum turned out to be. Bad data, bad marketing, and bad product. That led me to a Hitec Aurora, great product, well thought out and very easy to program. |
