Hello all

I'm new to this forum, but not to forums in general.

I've been intersted in RC model aircraft since I was at school about 40 years ago, when some of the better off kids got bought some of the new digital proportional radio gear that was just coming onto the market.

Prior to that I can remember my Dad building a rubber powered Keil Kraft Ace back in the 1960's, I think too much dope on the tissue crippled that one, it never flew straight.

As things stand at present, I have no airframes, and a motley collection of 20-30 year old IC engines and radio gear, most of which is probably beyond practical use by now, mostly due to decay, but probably illegal by now anyway.

Last time I flew anything, it was on 27Mhz with a scabby thunder tiger glow motor providing motive power.

People were still flying control line models with open exhaust ports then.

I appreciate that things have moved on considerably now, electric power has really come into its own, and radio gear has progressed in leaps and bounds.

Expect loads of dumb questions from me, I have 20 years of progress to catch up with.

Not that I intend to go very technical, my main interests are vintage models,

By the way Garth the Face Biter is not me, he is one of my Ferrets (a very friendly little chap, but with a treacherous streak)

Thanks for taking the time to read this, hopefully, this forum will give me the inforation I need to get airbourne again soon.

Steve

Hi Steve, welcome from me. You'll find everything has changed in some respects and nothing at all in others. Just ask away if there's anything you need to know thumbs upwink 2

Cheers David

Actually, I could do with finding out how to edit the title of my thread, as today I seem to be incapable of spelling the name of the county I live in.

i tried an edit as soon as i posted, but it will only let me edit the content of the post, not the title.
