I know Dave G will be there, and it looks like I will make at least one day!

Who else is going and what are you bringing?

PSS - I'm going to have the same 2 as last time.

Sports - the multiplex fox FF to RC conversion will be repaired and fliable

Electric assist I'm hoping to have reqorked the Phase 3 super-chipmunk by then, so it will have a motor that works...

I've almost convinced SWMBO to come along so might be in a hotel, otherwise will either be one daying or camping....

Evening chaps,

Ill be travelling with the usual array of models with Rez Manzoori from Derby, between us we will have a pair of BAe Hawks, a Lockheed T-33, a Hawker Sea Fury, an Airbus A380, a Shorts Tucano and most likely a pair of Phase 6's (should the wind not play ball)...

Dave's right, its best, having travelled well over 150 miles to get there, to bring an array of airframes to suit any conditions, from flat calm (electric assist) to 'hoolie' - when highly loaded heavy weight models are best like the Sea Fury.

Matt Jones and Tim Mackey are also confirmed both days. Ive not heard much noise yet from any of the other 'regular' PSSA members, but rest assured if the forecast is flyable Im sure we will be joined by a few more pilots and an array of scale slopers.

Love the looks of your new F-16 Dave!!! Cant wait to see that one go!

Phil

Yup I am confirmed. Not much PSSA stuff to fly TBH, this has been a very bad 12 months for me in many ways, so its out with the old faithful but rather tatty Hawk, the Grippen, and a couple of electric assisted and sport models. B52 is still stuck ( well I am really ) and the large F18 Hornet I got off Matt simply wont fit in the car - its gonna have to go

Its not that huge on span - but its long, and 1-piece - built from the Houye EDF kit I think.

Heres a picture from the PSSA website - F-18 and proof that you were at the event where he flew it Dave HERE

Watching the forecast carefully - looking quite favourable at the mo with South Easterly winds 12-15mph on XC weather - which will be lovely for PSS on these coastal slopes... some sunny spells too! Some final preps still to finish here before we travel but looking forward to the weekend. Heres a link to last years Lleyn event write up for anyone whos not yet seen it. See you Saturday morning... yes

Well, interesting times after watching Ted at the cinema last night.

I finished the fox repair - it took even less time than the predicted 10 minutes. the radio is all programmed and ready to go.

Then decided to check where all the Rx's where - being on FASST I don;t own as many Rx's as airframes. so on inspecting one of the PSS models it appears the nut for the wing bolt, which goes through a 90 degree stand off, has come loose - remove the wing (I store this one fully built and stood up on it's tail....). Yep, it is off. a quick sand and some glue and a clamp are in place. Having checked this morning all is well.

Got into work early this morning so I could do some dremmaling without disturbing SWMBO. have now stopped as the smoke from the ply I was cutting was liable to set of the smoke alarm....will carry on in the garden tonight.

So 2 PSS models checked over and ready, apart from moving the Rx about, the FF fox conversion ready to maiden - Rx installed as it needs to be this one for this aircraft. and part way to the electric assist Chipmunk being ready, just need to cut glue and screw the firewall and motor, oh, and reattach the cowl.

I doubt I'll ge tthe 330 converted to glider tonight, but should have 4 fliable by tomorrow night. All batteries and Tx is charged too...

Hmm...

Parts for the Chipmunk have arrived from modelaccessories. along with the 2 servos i ordered for the ST-330 so i can add seperate flaps. Unfortunatly one of the servos is missing all of the out put arms and screws. I have emailed them for a solution, but may be able to use some spare arms from home.

I don't think I'll get the 330 done tonight anyway - simple time constraints will be the limiting factor on that one!

Well I made a CLASSIC mistake!!

Assumed that everything was ready and when I was getting the models together, I found the Mirage was missing its elevator servo!!!angry

And guess what I didnt have any of....... Spare servos!!sad

So I have "borrowed" one from my Matador and installed it, so now the Mirage IS ready!!!smiley

Just have to pack the car in the morning and then a gentle trundle down to the b+b!!

See you all either tomorrow evening or on Saturday!face 23

Like I said on the phone Olly.

Dont "bust a gut" to get the 330 done..... The Phoenix is available foryou if you want to and as you found out on your first ever visit to a PSS meet. There are plenty of people willing to let you have a fly with their models!!

Drive safe and see you tomorrow night!

Hi Dave,

The 330 is definatly not goinng to be ready - not even started!

If you had said I have some 3003 servos sitting idle at the minute!

I'll see everyone tonight, safe drive. The weather looks promising for tomorrow too!
