2932 forum posts 116 photos | I'll check mine later( may have to be after the weekend I'm afraid, I'm getting ready for a trip to Stow Maries retro do), but as a start set the balance point about 30% at the root. It's pretty forgiving, I fly mine with whatever 3S pack has some charge in, anything from 1800 to 2600 so the CofG moves about a bit. It doesn't need much aileron, maybe 10mm max 6mm min rated each way? Elevator I'm guessing is around 12mm each way because that's where I start on most models, rudder just fill your boots, as long as it doesn't bind on the elevator. Motor - ah WTH, give me a minute I'll check. |

2932 forum posts 116 photos | ok, the actual facts which surprised me - elevator 20mm each way with 40% expo max rate and 55% for low rate, ailerons 20mm each way 60% expo and 60% low rates, rudder to clear the elevators 60% expo. Motor 2815/09 920kv, 3S, 10*6 Graupner power prop. C of G with the 2600 LiPo? Are you sure you want my settings? OK, no responsibilty accepted, this is not for novices - 5" back from the root leading edge, or about 50% root chord. I've recommended this model to any number of people, but I always point out that it's not so much a kit as a box of foam packing from which a model can be built. It does fly nice though!

2932 forum posts 116 photos | One point you may not be aware of - the supplied undercarriage legs are very thin. The model 'walks' rather than rolls along. I replaced the legs in mine with some heavier wire, either 16 or 14 swg, whatever I had to hand. You want enough flex so that it doesn't rip the mounts out while still controlling the wheels. Some builders on the US forums have glass clothed their models and fitted retracts. I might try some cheap HK electric retracts in it one day. |
