Hi Andy,

That is one gorgeous ship.

Would you care to elucidate on the problems keeping her EarthBound?

Well first I wrecked my Firewall with the engine mounting, by fixing that problem I realised other ones, like wrong tube on tank system ( for methanol instead of gasoline) .What else oh yes my wiring was a kind of black Plastic wire ( looked great ) but couldn‘t stand force, so now I‘m on a thin black coated electrical wire. After all I didn‘t feel happy with the Engine ngh 38 which has enourmous power, so I bought a Saito 36 Fg which is an superb and very nice looking Engine, but would have been to much fuzz with my fuselage. So I dropped that idea again and built the Saito in my other bipline. ....and a few other projects. But this is hopefully past, she needs to get airborne in 2018!!😳

Don't know if it'll help but here's the link that will show how the stamped flies at 16 and a half pounds with a Saito 120 turning a16/6 propeller.

You know, I thought about it and searched a little and voila!

Back on page 109, about halfway down, I imbedded that vid about halfway down the page.

I just finished switching out my Spectrum rx for a Futaba and doing a little maintenance. She's in fine shape now. I had to glue down a few corners on my pinstripe tape reg letters and glue the magnet back on to the top hatch (for choking).

Nice thing is, you never lose a hatch magnet when it pulls loose.

One parting shot, you never realize how big these stampes are until you take them up a flight of stairs 30" wide.

How much travel would be needed. I am guessing 1 inch would be plenty

Wakey wakey Stampe owners.

Who would be up for a Stampede next year at the 2018 Wings and Wheels Show, if we can get enough of us together we could possibly  have some dedicated Stampe slots.

Obviously you will need a BMFA B cert,.

I ended up with about 2”. I also had to experiment with the spring resistance. Ended up with a long compression spring with good damping and a harder spring behind that. Entex springs have a very good range, £10 minimum order.

What your travel rate is really depends on the weight of the model.

Love the idea Bert. Any dates? Going to Greenacres in August this year, hopefully. Mrs Cymaz and I try and do that every year..

June 23/24. Sounds good to me as well but if its going to happen we need to contact the organisers pretty soon to grab a slot. Also given the strong wind we often get we need a backup model to fill the slot should the weather be too much for the biplanes.

I am likely to be there with Laser anyway and we have our slot so if anyone has a Laser equipped model they can join us as well.

Greenacres slots are very loose Jon, and organised on the day. Most of the flying is "off the peg" More like a group of like minded flyers with similar models grabbing some time.

It would be great to see you, if you can make it

Cheers

Danny

I went to GA a number of years ago but have not been since for a variety of reasons mostly related to weather. Its a long drive for me and if the weather is not looking good its really not worth the trip. The first time i also went with some other chaps but noone else has wanted to go recently. I didnt want to be a billy no mates

I would like to have a fly in of some kind at my club but its always so difficult to organise

I did GA in 2013, weather was good, one local lad said it's rare for it to be good.

I meant slots at Wings and Wheels

Could possibly fly at W&W since I am usually there anyway. Also have the Spit. which could be a backup.

Any GA event is now doubtful for me after those interference problems this year. Shame really.

the reports of radio issues are something else that has me concerned about GA which is a shame.

Plenty of space at WW for you though Martin.
