My latest completed model, a Falcon models ‘Falcon 36’, my first go covering with laminating film - brilliant stuff! covered over the top with coloured tissue and Eze-dope

Very nice Ken! Love those vintage curves.

Here is my latest effort. It is a scratch built Airtronics Q-Tee. Started with a downloaded plan then redraw everything in 3D on the computer including motor, servo and all linkages to perfect the fits and dimensions. Then I used my CNC router to cut myself a kit. For various reasons this has been nearly 3 years in the making but it is finally flying.

For what it is worth here is my version of the Mini Blitz. Only motor I had available was a Cox Queen Bee 0.074 r/c, a bit OTT but it is not too powerful and is at least controllable and silenced. A little of the dreaded was required at the rear to get the (dry) cg correct. Not flown yet.

Buster

Please report how your model flies.

There was one (possibly still exists) in our club, with an electric motor, and Lipo. The owner could not get it to fly, seemingly unresponsive to rudder and elevator.

It will be very interesting how you get yours or have got your model to fly.

As yet unflown, but it is free flight for the Bowden comp...just a building exercise before I start on my Junior 60

Great to see your Q-Tee pics. I built one from an Airtronics kit way back in the late '70s. DC Merlin with (then) Sanwa mini gear on R/E. Terrific little flyer. I always meant to build the later shoulder wing version with ailerons. Maybe that could be your next project.wink

My son has been building a full size Europa for the last XX years. He was trawling the net and found a plan for a model, so he aimed it at me and challenged me to finish before he did. This is the result - it's not flown yet because I'm waiting for someone more competent on the sticks to do it for me. Balsa box frame, blue foam contours, balsa skinned foam wing, Hacker motor with 3S LiPo. Should go well, but we'll have to wait and see.europa 01.jpg

The plan called for a trigear U/C, but as his is a monowheel I had to follow suit and build a retracting monowheel unit to fit under the cockpit. Great fun!

My new Krier Great Lakes for Laser 155 power. 65in span, 11lb auw. Scaled up from my own original 47in span magazine plan (seen in my avatar) which I downloaded from Outerzone and scaled to 65in span and tile printed using the free Foxit pdf reader available on the internet.

Standard balsa/ply/spruce covered in HK white film with red Monokote sunburst, cheat lines and checks. Cowl has balsa front ring with cardboard skirt, epoxy-glassed inside and out.

The oleos are sprung, the upper fairing made from litho plate.

The Laser 155 is angled to raise the carb to a more favourable height in relation to the fuel tank. The aluminium spinner is a Just Engines item.

For ease of carrying about I made a carrying handle which screws to the cabane using the wing bolts, and which stores the interplane struts and inter-aileron link rods.

Absolutely gorgeous. I like biplanes anyway so this has an inside track for me but this is just another example of a master builder's output.
