Bending Depron

Designer Cyril carr has kindly taken some photos of his Depron bending technique. We've recently published three plan model designs from Cyril - the two triplanes and this months Walrus.

Some of the photos show just how far you can bend Depron but as Cyril says 'pressure must very smoothly applied to avoid creases'.

He adds - 'the parcel sticky tape completely avoids splitting the outer surface. This method was used by Terry Mitchell with his recent Vulcan and Victor electric models. I would say that this method of construction reduces weight by 50% and gives good strength'.

A picture of Cyril's latest depron design is below - a very impressive Space Shuttle. The model awaits test flying and if successful may go on to be featured in RCM&E.

Cyrils latest design awaits its first flight!
