  1. EvilC57 and Engine Doctor. I am always very happy to receice constructive criticism about any of my videos that I post. However, the sarcastic tone of your replies I feel is unwarranted. Sure it's not a quality movie and I do not claim to be a professional videographer and my time is limited. The video is just a bit of light hearted fun shot in one morning using one head mounted camera. I thought it might be interesting for others to see but, it seems I was wrong. Perhaps, if I make another posting, I will add a trigger warning at the begining in order not to waste any more of your time? Or, perhaps one or both you could show me an example of one of your videos to help me learn how it's done? Cheers.
  2. Unfortunately I can't give you your 6 mins back. Sorry to have wasted your time!
  3. I had the same error message yesterday evening. Site was reluctant to start up a couple of hours ago too.
  4. David Gilmour duet with daughter Romany.
  5. Toto, I use 4S 2700's in my model and my timer is set to 10 minutes. After a flight and a while resting the lipos are at storage charge and can be safely stored until the next flying session. I try to fly mine in a scale like manner hence battery consumption is relatively low. I think the model has enough oomph to do the basic manouvres that the full size is able to do - it's not a model to be flown aggressively, there are better options for that. I do agrree that the model is succeptable to the wind, it has a light wing loading and the wings do catch a lot of air. It is a gem in still air! I would definitely go for your 3250 packs, remember to check the CG. The extra weight will help give a tad more stability and increase your flight times. Start at your current 5 minutes, check the pack after flying and gradually increase the flight time until you reach a good balance between flight time and pack condition. Have fun and report back
  6. Good news Toto - Congratulations on your successful maiden.
  7. Pleased to be of help. If you have any more questions or doubts don't hesitate to ask.
  8. Hi toto, The collet is very awkward to get into! I adapted an allen key specifically for the job as in the photo. The drill bit was used as a temporary axle and can be ignored.
  9. Yeh, the black wheel cap needs to be prised off somehow. I drilled a small hole in mine and then used a small allen key to pull it off the hub. If you're careful there's less damage to the cap than levering it off with a scredriver or similar. See the first pic. With the cap removed you will find the wheel retained by a circlip. This, of course, needs to be removed before the wheel can be. Then, depending on your new wheels you may have to find a new method of securing them to the axle. I used collets as seen in the second pic. The wheels are from the Hobbyking Avios Grand Tundra. Hope this helps and look forward to seeing your result.
  10. I made my comment on the youtube video. Wonderful!
  11. I will be interested in hearing your thoughts on the Reflex system once you have the model flying. I removed it from mine and have never used it.
  12. ***Link doesn't appear to work - can you repost Steve and I will delete this unless it's OK for others? Martin (Mod)***
  13. Definitely ditch the wheels - they are too heavy, too hard and too big! The springs are also very 'unspringy' and I removed them too. I went for a different solution on mine and made up something more aesthetic - it's just a rod in a tube, the landing gear takes the strain, no additional springs are needed. I also swapped the wheels for a pair from the Avios Grand Tundra from Hobby King which are much more scale and lighter. I also use a pair of Kavan 5" wheels. The model flies like a dream and has no bad vices and looks best when flown in a scale like manner in my opinion. Pic 1. Modded LG with 5" Kavan wheels. Pic 2. Avios Grand Tundra wheels.
  14. I Bought a cheap (brushed motors) toy grade multicopter from my local model shop for 10 notes. I decided to do something with it just for fun and this is the result. A few hops in the house proves everything works. Weather permitting the maiden will take place later this afternoon.
  15. I log all of my flights across all of my models but keep things very simple using an A5 sized notebook with hole punched pages. Each model has it's own page on which is basic info such as motor/prop/esc/battery used/empty weight and weight with battery + the initial CG setting. After a few flights revised CG is noted. Each flight is recorded on a grid with which battery used (they are all numbered) and I simply record how much I have to put in each battery when recharged as a basic check on it's condition. I have the Tx timer set for each model and generally fly to this with batteries discharged down to storage charge level after each flight. It's all a bit basic but works for me. Also, knowing how many flights a model has done I find interesting. For example, my Multiplex Solius has over 500 flights ranging from 15 minutes to an hour. Bought as a kit and still flying with the original budget electronics I put in it, costing under 200 notes, works out as a very cost effective investment for the amount of enjoyment I've had flying it. This holds true for many other models too.
  16. I have no idea where that "Cookies" business appeared from. My apologies.
  17. I agree cymaz, the annoyance factor is rising every time I visit!
