  1. Could it be from the Hawker Hind plan that Sarik do ~ RSK1707?
  2. I loved the Mystic ~ flew well on a Supertiger 90 back in the day...
  3. 1. Battle of Britain 2. The Cruel Sea 3. Dunkirk (the original with John Mills)
  4. Saturday was the first time that I had flown a model in nearly a year. What a wonderful day ~ blue sky, gentle breeze and warm... Fingers crossed that we get a few more like this in the weeks to come.
  5. Have a look at affinity photo by serif... Very much in the photophop mode and cheap.
  6. It might be a Precedent bi fly 40.... Looks very similar. Stumps
  7. Simon, Thank you for your update and I've just started to copy the fuzz formers over to lightply. regards Stumps
  8. Morning Simon That’s an excellent job you’ve made of the Skywriter ~ really looks the part. Can I ask a couple of questions regarding your conversion to IC? First, did you keep the engine’s centreline as per the plans electric setup and secondly what size tank did you use? I ask as when the plan first came I thought I would like to build that at some stage in the future but with an IC and I now have a FS52 sitting around doing nothing. But, placing the engine on the centreline and using a yellow Slec tank, the tank has to be placed somewhat lower than idea due to the fuselage cabane strut mountings. Did this cause any issues? Regards Stumps
  9. I thought you were a lot older than 20 (XX above). Happy birthday and I hope you had a great day. Stumps
  10. Danny, Do you think a laser 100 would be OK or a little OTT for the Fury? I've got one currently awaiting a new airframe. regards Stumps
  11. Morning Ken, I don't think that's the Bryant Fury, but one by another designer that is part of the Flying Scale Models mag. From memory, I think it's a little smaller as well. regards Stumps
  12. Is that Oliver Hardy in the back... love the model though.

    Dunkirk

I really liked the movie even if you could driver a bus through some of the facts. The aerial work was really good and there are some fantastic shots taken from the airfield they used down south. **LINK** I love the He111 model ~ does anyone know who built and flew it? Stumps
  14. I once had the Saito 45 in a DB sports and Scale 58in Tiger Moth. A love combination for that type of aircraft.
  15. This takes me back... I was in the ATC around 1974/75 and we used to RTP in the drill hall. Now the hall itself wasn't so big that we'd fly the models so that the wing tips weren't that far away from several of the walls. I remember this goodly night when one of the lads was flying his fw190, to give it try just before another (richer) lad was going to hook up a 4 engine job. Anyway the FW is doing its stuff when the CO opened the hall door (which opened into the hall) and off came the right wing ~ crash and burn... Now our CO flew spits during the war, but this was the only (we think) FW he'd ever brought down
  16. After the introduction of the New EASA regulations, they looked skyward and remembered the halcyon day when models aircraft were not confined to the ground…
  17. The closer it got, the more it looked like a piano….
  18. Subscribed too as I really love Hawker designs... But, having to wait until 2018 ~ not sure I can Stumps
  19. Thumbs up on the repairs and it should fly like a treat. Mine came home many time looking a lot worse than that
  20. Hi, I've been looking at Tony's Hurricane plan (the free one from 2010) with a view of having a go myself. So, I have a question for anyone who may have built one. Is the tail wheel fixed, and where is anchored to? I must be getting old, but I can't see how this is done on the plan. Any help or pointers in the right direction will be very welcomed. regards Stumps
  21. Posted by Andy Butler on 16/02/2017 13:34:00: Keil Kraft kits are still being manufactured here. Crikey, £69.95 for a KK Chief ~ I paid £3.50 for my kit from the LMS. Mind you that was back in 1974/5 and it took me months to save my pocket money for it... Edited By Stumps on 16/02/2017 14:33:53
  22. Hi Pete, I've been looking at the Skywriter with the view of using an OS52fs that I have spare. Like you, I've been trying to come up with an engine and tank layout using the same Slec tank. The problem I've found is where there cabane struts sit in the fuselage. The tank has to sit lower than is desired without altering their anchor point height. As an alternative I've thought about lowering the engine slightly. Do you have any thought on this? regards Ant
  23. I've copied a photo over form Lindsay's build thread ~ Plan shows the grain going the wrong way.
