Thanks for the info so far. I forgot to add that it would be a windows machine. Mine has several faults,lid is faulty,certain angles of opening give no picture or sound and now battery as failed.not worth repairing. i would like to of kept around £600, the lenovo z51-70 i have now was much dearer new. it has dvd drive and 1TB ssd,dont really need both them this time. There is a shop near by that as branches over the country that sell ,refurbed. When looking i thought they were brand new! guy was not great at telling me what the equivilent of mine was roughly.only to spend as much as i can offord . I perhaps might like to go seperate graphics this tiime,so i can turn more FPS up buying on-line is good but like said you need to know what you need. so 2 questions then please, what would be a good graphics card (not dedicated) at the lower end to run say accurc at lower fps, i get 60 i think with dedicated. And CPU i have intel i7 5500u 2.40ghz, i would need same grunt or higher sligtly. I do not design of office work,most strain is the couple flight sims. not used turned way up.

I need to replace a laptop ,mine as nearly had it,bought in 2015. But after going to PC world the laptop section and choice is really bad,as well as the help. There is a second hand outlet with good warrenty i might try BUT i have no real idea of specs now. The laptop i have is performance wise ok for my use,I only run Heli-x and accurc on it,it looks ok and never freezes while playing. The cpu is a i7 5500u gen5 2.40ghz 2.40ghz. 8gb mem and intergarted graphics hd5500. I can just the amount of memory, and Disc space and screen size,mine is 15.6. Its just the CPU and grahics i need to know what to look for,i do not want less performance. any info would be great.

Its not a file name issue for sure. have tried a "new" track with exact file name as a standard with no luck. GF and SF all work fine with standard tracks.

I have found out that the newer colour screen radio`s can accept 8 characters if needed. only symbol i have seen from standard is "-". Although i put a # after a 6 character file and that was found WHILE my knew file with exact file name will either not show or show and not play! For me its not a file thing,i am sure. i am all set to say sod it BUT its just bugging me know.spent all day yesterday on this. trying lots of stuff from suggestions here and elsewhere with no luck. one was that not to have 2 files with same name, i had fm-1,fm-1, fm-1#.fm.1 So i removed all,called my new file fm-1 ,same has standard,file is found in track menu but wont play! the only thing i can think is,some guy said the sample must be 2040hz or lower,the TTS i am using is 2050hz,typical 10 hz over. i record in audacity at correct rate,again been told 16000,22000 and 36000 at mono! surprised how little help the open/edgetx dedicated sites have been. thought this is one of the benifits of opentx,so thought it should be a easy one for techy etc.

Watching more vids about using TTS and open/Edge tx. This last vid said that the TTS sample you make MUST be below 2040hz or it will not play. So opened the TTS mp3 sample in Audacity and it was 2400hz! Soooooo looked at play back rate options and Audacity had 2050hz,near enough? Recorded and guess what ,no sound in radio yet again!!!!!! If i choose 1600hz to play sample its slowed the speech down,so this part of audacity is working.

All the flight modes have it in my standard sounds file, fm-1,fm-2,fm-3 etc. I have given up ,last thought i had was to move the files around with the card in the radio,i normally take the card out. This made no difference. Surely if there was a issue in the file it would not play on the PC! i have read that guys use a TTS programme for custom phrases or words. All the ones i have found convert the text to speech to MP3. Surely when playing the MP3 in Audacity and saving in WAV is not the issue? its plays ok on the PC

The "track" i have mede like above was named incorrectly at first. I renamed it to " fm-1" or " fm-nrm" both will not play. The only thing i can think it is ,,, I use a TTS site, that records in MP3 ,i then convert to WAV .i then have to use Audacity to record. The files play ok on the PC and all settings etc are same as the standard WAVs going by properties.

I have Audacity, was using that. the vid on YT said to use 16000hz mono ,16 bit. i will try again using 32000hz. there are 2 options in record, record and record new track. Which do you use? thanks

I wanted some different WAV tracks. Same "phrase" but different voice. So i downloaded the WAV files 16000 hz and 16 bit etc BUT in Special funtions these new tracks do not show. i was told its because i named them different from the originals inthe sound folder and EN . So i named them exactly the same as the original files. still did not play.i could see them but not working.the thing was i put a # at the end of the original tracks thinking the change will stop these working and my new tracks will BUT even the old tracks renamed with the # was seen in SF and played!!!!! i am new to the EDGETX and radio master and its driving me nuts. seen some YT vids and its shown done like i have. Ihave seen vids of guys playing home made tracks and music worked by a switch,what am i doing wrong? thanks?

I have been kind of duped in buying a legit RF5.5 and RF interlink x USB controller. The CD has the serial ,no serial on the controller! A email to RF got a very fast reply in saying this controller does not work with RF5.5! Can any one please explain what version of RF came with this contoller ? and what if any sim will work with the "tatic interlink-x usb controller" ? i did not realise the controller needs a serial,the seller showed the cd`s case and serial, not back of the genuine (but incorrect type) controller. thanks

The Nano Tech far right plug looks bigger and slightly different.

Need to replace the 8AA type pack in my JR DSX9. i have been using a Overlander enerloop pack. This time i am going to try a LiFe pack (i can can find 1 in the UK)!!!! Thing is the plug on some packs say JR/Spek and called JST-XH ,this looks bigger than my plug, my plug looks smaller. Is JST-XH correct for JR/Spek?

Thanks guys i will try Steve Webb. i know i need a gasket for sure BUT also there was no gasket/washer on the head.It was a old engine i bought. Should a 15-vi have a head gasket,can not find a assenbly/parts diagramme online.

Apart from being lucky on EBAY etc, is there anywhere in the UK that might have Enya spare parts?

Hi Guys,thanks for the replies. As mentioned this is a old engine with no threaded holes to mount directly to,this stopped me using a after market item.Think this applied to JUST MOTORS stock. The Enya site i used did not show any engine parts for the most part OR strip down diagrammes,the supplied owners manual as no parts listed or diagrammes. I will contact KEN but i am not fixed on it being a Enya item,specially if the noise capture is not great. I also bought a Enya 19 iv ,this has a clap on muffler supplied. This is in need of a good clean.Again no strip down diagramme present,or parts list. So after taking the head off, no gasket of any king is present,is that correct? this is a 4004 model

I have just purchased a Enya 35-v, model 5225. I as no exhaust in the box. can not find no info on the Enya site,due to engines age perhaps. The engine as no holes to accept a bolt on type. Are there any after market options that will fit or does anyone have a part number ? i can see nothing. thanks

I was lucky to buy the kit. Thanks for the info guys. The box looks unopened to me, might of been re taped. i would like to check the contents,does the build manual show all the cut parts etc? i see a review of a Top flite kit BUT it was not the spit or gold edition and the manualwas comprensive .

Looking to try my hand at a more scale kit to build. Seen a Top flite 63" inch spitfire gold editon kit for sale local. Its as new condition. Can not find the kit for sale any where to get a idea of the cost. I can also not find much about the quality or difference in normal kit compared to "Gold" any info would be great.Forgot to mention if anyone can comment on if its easy to convert to elec or best kept IC,Thanks

Thanks Grumpy and Philip for offer to help. After all the initial posts of so called help went else where. It beats me how people think everyone knows how to use a PC/Laptop to good standards! I am no pc whizz at all,i do not even have a smart phone! All this stuff about the file and where it is,if i had the file i would not be asking for help. yes i should of kept a copy befor i attempted to edit,but i did not. There is a independent computer shop close by,i went in there to ask about a programme to edit pdf,thats easy.the young guy said whats it for.told him what i said here. He asked me to get this laptop. showed him the file. With 5 or 6 clicks ,the had the 2 squashed lines of words back to 5 neat lines. took him less than 5 mins. I was over the moon,he would not give me a price so i gave him £10 to fill his motorbike up. He asked me no silly questions,just helped.great young lad.

Yes if i had the huge old tower!

This file was done on our old tower PC. it was loaded with MSword/office etc. All these programmes never used. So got a laptop,this has word pad and paint,these 2 things get me by for letters etc. When i convert the Word file to PDF all boxes dissapear. i have next ti no pc skills,looked on YT but to edit txt is too complicated for me. regards back up, i have never done that,nothing on my laptop is important,any photos etc i have stored on dongle. Just not up to speed on this stuff. i did this file on office with help from neihbour who is no longer there sinse moving, thanks for the advice anyway

Is there anyone who might be able to edit a PDF file? I have jumbled a small amount of txt up while converting from a MSWORD file. I was doing this for my daughter and now ruined the original file. i can give better explaination in a PM if any takers. thanks

i thought any usb tablet could be used on any platform if the software was available. I am not sure if tablet + pen units can all be used for design? are some just you for art? i thought that a tablet and pen from any brand could be used with windows paint etc.
