  1. Chris, Same TX. The rx would nor respond on the field,at the start of flying. I tried to re-bind at home but to no avail ! Interested to know as to why yours responded, in the workshop . eric.
  2. My Apprentice SAFE receiver, after two years use will not re-bind. As any one had the same experience? An e.mail to Horizon Hobby, was not of any forthcoming help; other than buy a new one !!
  3. Can some one remind me as to how I calibrate my motor, for it to respond to my throttle movement. The Elev, Ailerons and the Rudder all respond to the transmitter, except the motor.
  4. Has anyone converted the Black Horse Travel- Air to electric power ??

    covering

Thanks for your quick response ! It is for an E-Flite Apprentice, which is made of Z-foam. The label only states Solarfilm. There is no finish on the wing. I lost it in the sky because of the white colour and intend to put a dark cover on the underside of the wings.

    safe receivers

One of the other models that I put an eflr130031 safe receiver into, was a "Flying Super Model" Fokker Dv11. I had to follow advice from "Rcgroups"; which entailed making alterations, within my Spectrum D6 Tx. They have a designated Blog for " Installing Safe RX into another `plane". Members have added their modified models to a list, which is quite numerous. With regard to my model, It does not take-off or land purely by it self; you have to control only the throttle and ensure the model is flying inline with the runway ! The safe Rx automatically, adjusts the other controls .

    safe receivers

Hi, my interest in such Safe receivers is because I have, because of age 87yrs and recent heart surgery, I found it necessary to fly models with the EFLR310013 Safe Rx, for eg, Apprentice. However, I have been able to install this safe Rx into other models; which takes a lot of the anxiety away. There are 3 modes, beginner, intermediate and experienced. I fly mostly in the intermediate mode and if you aim the craft in line with the Runway, and slowly reduce the throttle, it will land by itself. I expect it would also Take-Off in the same manner but I`ve not tried that yet. Anyway thanks to all who contributed.
  9. Is there a Safe receiver that enables models to take off and land itself ??
  10. Can anyone recommend a mechanical winder, for a rubber powered model ??
  11. I`ve found it, 77mm from leading edge of top wing !!
  12. Hi, When locating the C of G on a bi-plane , should it be on the top or the bottom wing ??
  13. Hi Old John B, I`m 87 and my Safe receiver is a EFLR 310013 and I have had no trouble in binding it to my Fokker D V7.
  14. The new switch works OK... Do not worry Lads, I will be careful !!!
  15. This particular RX needs to be switch on, whilst holding it steady on the runway, to allow the ele, rud and elev to do a "dance", then she is read for flight !!!
  16. Thanks to all. I have found what I am looking for on Ebay. "Blacksmith 8104". Without the signal wire ; Ail, Elev and Rud will work but the Throttle will not. I am using a Apprentice Safe RX.
  17. I`m having difficulty in sourcing a JR/Spectrum on/off switch with a signal wire ! The on/off switch that I have, does not have a signal wire, resulting in no power for the throttle. I have searched on ebay but to no avail !! Can you help ??
  18. Thanks Frank, it is the same model.
  19. I have built an electric Fokker D V11 and the recommended power train is motor 800 kv , Lipo 4 cell 2200mAH and up, ESC 50 amp, Prop 12x6 - 12x8. I have a surplus motor 700kv, 70 amp ESC and three cell lipo 3200mAH, which I would like to use on this model. Can anyone advise me as to which size Prop, I should use ?
  20. That is where I used to get them from but they are over 1inch now. It is the same in the shops that sell pins. IT appears they are not stocked any more.
  21. I am having difficulties in finding 1inch pins, suitable for pinning mylar hinges on a light model airplane. Any longer pins such as over 1 inch tends to bend. Are there any alternatives to pins?. Cocktail sticks are to large.
  22. Hi Chris, It is for a new kit Fokker D V11. I would not want it to be any longer than 3 mins. Just long enough to re-position, if necessary ! Happy New year to you both !!
  23. I`ve tried to find the answer to my problem, by searching through the many past threads on this subject but there is so many ! I`m wanting a glue for fixing balsa wing ribs, that has an approx, 3 minute setting time, to ensure the ribs are correctly set. I use CA normally but it does not give me time to reposition. Please advise!!
  24. Thanks Dave, Jon & Denis for your advice but before I throw it away; there is one other matter that has arisen. Whilst lying idle the battery voltage has risen to 7.0v. Is there still any hope??
