  1. As Ron mentioned my battery pack project took a back seat for a while. I can report that a Molicel P45B pack configured to 7S2P (7s 9000mah) flies fantastic in a 90mm EDF when we tested it yesterday. I chose 7 cells because the ESC can handle it and I wasn't sure how the lithiums would sag under load. The lithium pack gave me more power and a longer flight time, I landed after 9 minutes of mixed flying and used 6000mah so could squeeze more out of it if I wanted. Telemetry shows the pack temperature reached about 35c in flight, they're rated to 60c Field charged at 20 amps using a lipo profile. A very successful outcome. Ron may have a flight video 😀
  2. That looks great Ron, our local farmer will love that!
  3. Graeme, that sounds like an exhilarating flight, well done saving the model. Have you considered using perspex or similar to draw your visual adds onto instead of foam board? At the right scale and arms length you will be able to visualise it at the field. Better still ask a helper to review your shapes and give you some feedback. Mark
  4. My flying has improved since I realised i was using too much surface control which I put down to lone flying and not knowing any better. It's surprising how little throw is required to fly clubman and bmfa manouvers.

  6. Not sure if these are competition quality but thought you might like to see some photos from this weekends Rougham 2010 air show, all taken from the spectator line. Tony Nijhuis B-50, wheel failure on take off.  Extra 500cc  Vector thrust, just hanging around.   Flanker turbine with decoy flares   Dawn Patrol  Warbirds  Tony Nijhuis Hurricane  Dawn Patrol - Ali Machinchy  Extra 500cc   Edited By Mark Allen 1 on 03/05/2010 21:55:57
  7. Andy, I ordered the 5g motor but should have probably gone for the 10g as I will only be flying outdoors.  I will finish the build then consider the upgrade! When you say "full fuse" do you mean box section build like the intro-vert?
  8. Andy, thanks for the build info and video.  My electrics are in the post, hope to get them soon so I can get into the air. From your video this looks like a great aircraft to take on our summer holidays and fly in the evening sun!Mark
  9. Battery connector question. Can anyone advise me of the best way to make the battery connection (plug, socket, bullet etc) and what to use for each? Thanks Mark
  10. Hello Peter, thanks for the link.  The simplicious looks fun to fly but I am more keen on the retro look like this Funder & Lightning. Now I know what to do next winter when the flying opportunities are rare.Mark
