  1.   Good results I thought for a budget drone. Edited By Bob Moore on 21/12/2017 21:34:51
  2. Hawkeye have just issued a FW update for the 8S which has much improved the EIS.
  3. Thanks. And yes I noticed the difference too. Git2 has always been known to have a good EIS, but that said, some early Firefly's were much improved after firmware was tweaked a bit. (yes, strange choice of name!)
  4. I was trying to decide which of these was best for mounting on my Bayangtoys x21 quadcopter. I think I know which came out best for me in terms sharpness, colour and contrast.
  5. RC Moments sent me one of these foldable drones for review. wifi camera, FPV app worked well (test video on my review though there was a bit too much wind for a lightweight drone) . Altitude hold (barometric at that price) they say one key return, though I didn't have the opportunity to test it. Quite fast even on the lowest rates. Make a good Xmas pressie? some discount codes on my links.
  6. Some motorised gimbal and fixed gimbal video footage from my X21 in the local churchyard, plus some town footage from this small native 4K camera from GitUp. Footage is at 17m 30 s if you want to skip the unboxing etc.
  7. Drocon sent me this as an apology for their delay in producing batteries for another of their products. It's quite fun to fly indoors. (Or outside even.) Very quick even on slow setting. Flies well and even has headless mode and altitude hold, though I doubt it works by barometric sensor? I trust I'm not breaching CAA regs flying it in my garden (it is within 50m of residential properties ) $19 apparently now on promo code on my video.
  8. My unboxing and testing the 2 GPS model X21. Good value for my quadcopter. Stable in flight, battery life good and lots of high end functions, surround me, GPS return to home, loss of signal RTH , follow me etc. Flight tests are at 10m 08s not as shown in titles.   Edited By Bob Moore on 27/09/2017 09:25:02 Edited By Bob Moore on 27/09/2017 09:25:33 Edited By Bob Moore on 27/09/2017 09:26:38
  9. I've put together what I'm hoping will be a successful FPV system for my Syma X8HC quadcopter. Without the cost of a camera (I already have a couple of suitable ones) £55, including a 7 inch monitor. Details on my video here including the components I've used. Still has to be test flown (in a legal and appropriate environment of course!)
  10. As far as I know. It's a mod that many people have made. I believe the regs are more concerned about the power output of the tx.    limit is 100mW.   Edited By Bob Moore on 28/03/2016 14:21:33
  11. Easier to judge in this one. The church tower is 104 feet high. And yes, a bit naughty flying at that location. [Video removed] Edited By Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator on 28/03/2016 13:19:59
  12. It's really hard to say, the wide angle lens on the camera exaggerates the height. I've been tempted to put a bluetooth vario on the quad and I have paragliding software on my smart phone that would let me see the height gain. Trouble is, I doubt the bluetooth will have enough range. Must be a good few hundred feet. People have tested that Syma to nearly 300 metres with the standard little 2.4ghz dipole.
  13. I fitted a 5db antenna on my Syma tx to give more reliable range. Range is actually similar probably to that achieved with the standard dipole originally set up inside the tx. But I assume it will have a better signal strength? Range is basically limited by my eyesight. I can get the little quad as high as I dare without losing sight of it!
