  1. Peter, my apologies. A poor start to my question and entirely an error on my part. Thank you for your explanation, which is very clear on the number of turns. But, to be clear on the line to be flown prior to spin entry, having established a heading after the top of the manoeuvre, I hold the heading and allow the track to deviate from along the line (which might bring the model closer to me if the wind is into my face?). Thanks again. Tim
  2. Hi Keith I very much enjoyed your book, thank you. I have one question regarding the spin entry and recovery. If you wish to track "along the line" with a crosswind the heading at spin entry will be into wind, I have found this to be quite a large drift angel due to the reduced airspeed of the model at spin entry. Is the spin recovery now after x turns (say 2) or is the recovery now completed onto the line (perhaps 2 turns plus 30 degrees if there was 30 degrees of drift?). Do you know if that is the same for the B Test, or in that case is 2 turns only required? Many thanks Tim
  3. Me too please. It's probably too early to wish everyone a Happy Christmas, but as everyone seems to be starting everything Christmassy early, Happy Christmas. Tim
  4. Thanks John. That's a good idea and I will do that. Tim.
  5. Thanks Dave That is an option, but the model has 2, they are bigger than the normal servo housing and if I can I would like to try to replace the arm. It's also a £60 servo that I would rather not bin! Tim
  6. Thanks kc I called pro-build but they didn't suggest this one, so I'm again not sure of the sprocket/spigot (whatever it is) size? Thanks for answering though. Tim
  7. Hi Guys I'm after a bit of help if I can. I recently broke a servo arm on my Futaba S9154 servo. The problem I am having is finding a replacement servo arm. The diameter of the attachment (sprocket?) is larger than the regular Futaba servo horns (it's about 6mm diameter) but I cant find any spec that includes this. Does anyone know how I can ensure I order the correct servo arm? Thanks in anticipation Tim
  8. Great fun. At least the right team won (spoiler alert!!)
  9. Keith, I am not so sure about models, but I assume the the same principle will apply. On full size aircraft if the spoilers become unpowered the low pressure above the wing (which is, arguably, what is keeping us flying) will cause the spoiler to partially deploy. Personally I think the affect will be less on a model, but it will depend on many factors (position, model weight, incidence etc....). Thus, I concur with Denis to hold them down. Tim
  10. whoops, I don't know what happened there, but my apologies for a triple post!
  11. An interesting model. I have researched building an Avro Athena, which lost the competitive tender to the the BP Balliol. The Athena was produced locally at Woodford, and it seemed an appropriate model. I have 3 view drawings which I have scaled up to about 55 inch span, but have yet to find the time or confidence to start, despite the weather keeping me off the flying field for over a month!! Tim

  14. Keep looking into my eyes.... When I click my fingers you will have forgotten all about the plane hitting the fence
  15. Hi Dom I am normally a silent observer, but I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying your videos. The PC21 is lovely, and its worth watching just to see the prop start turning!! Tim
  16. I guess the second law would be: No matter how big your field box, the item you need is not in it! I do have one though, with the much hated Power Panel and 12V 7A battery, with starter and glow driver and a variety of tools. Tim
  17. I have a 2 meter cub and it is very prone to tip stalling (not a DB one though). I think the real thing has washout, and this picture is great example of it. Good luck with the build. Tim Edited By Tim Cheal on 26/04/2019 11:11:26
