  1. Try the the mascot from db sport and scale all proven models to build https://www.dbsportandscale.com/mascot-6506-p.asp . Also the sky 40 from slec is another one https://www.slecuk.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=129_130_168
  2. well what a weekend of quater finals all very good and entertaining games with the SA vs France being a very intense game with the only difference was that the South Africans had better bench of world class players to come on. Highly entertaining and I couldn't moan much about the refereeing either. And Mr Borthwick better have some magic plan at hand, it will be a tough challenge
  3. There is a few flaws in that the grid is nowhere near renewable capable it is going to take a least 50 years and trillions invested. The cars acting like 'grid savers' is a nice idea but it's no good if you battery is not full when you need to get somewhere, especially in a sudden emergency. the best way to overcome the grid demand is to build 80,90% or more off grid house all very doable with tech as it is now. Also every one is ignoring the eviromental distruction and carbon produced by making current tech batteries. these batteries are nowhere near the energy density require to power lorries and agricultural machinery. For city puttering around shopping current electric tech is ok Still we need a multi fuel/power approach .
  4. I know I know! electric mobility scooter?
  5. All I can see is a lot of uptalk and marketing, but of course time will tell. What gets me is this tunnel vision type approach to this carbon problem and the finite fossel fuel dependency, we need to have a multisolution approach and vision (we can't have all our eggs in one basket?) I do believe Toyota is taking this approach
  6. Well toyota been holding off on producing electric cars due to the fact thay can see the failings of current battrey tech, and are betting on ammonia power engines. no carbon in ammonia so no carbon emissions. it's the future! or just one part of multiple solutions of getting energy with out carbon emissions
  7. Well this should put the true finacial cost of Ev's into light as Nio loses $ 35000 a car sold!
  8. hi have you considered a magnetic building board, ive gone this way and it has its advantages over pins in a board. here is a link to an artical that explains it well
  9. Hi all can anybody identify which manufacturer made this Extra plane? I picked it up at a show with no details Wing span is 184cm (72.5 inch). the decal on the tail say St Augusteen /florida yes I should of put it together and taken photo instead of the indevigal pic's, but have stripped the wings and tail fin for repairs now. Hopefully someone can recognises it as it is a good few years old. Cheers?
  10. flight1

    extra 300 ?

  11. The entire range of TD, ACCESS & ACCST D16 receivers are supported, but the accst must be ACCST V2. So you need to check which accst your using on your existing Rx's. they can be easily flashed to required firmware if needed. As for pc interface their is the Ethos Suit which makes updating /back up very easy, on it it has image tool/ audio tool/model manager/ etc all easy to to use
  12. oops I didn't register the fact location was given😊
  13. To the 'OP' it might help if you let us know your location as there might be someone around who could help. As for tx the tx i have a x20 and the quality / functions are impressive . A very happy chappie I am with it.
  14. That's a proper high class dining room table😁 + i hope that is the regulatory 92cm work top height or a job's work might be around?!. oh! what's that build hiding in the corner? you got to tell all as we have seen it now🤔🙃
  15. well I have not seen a off the shelf catch but as in scale modelling some times you have to get the files out and make them see here as useful info https://forums.modelflying.co.uk/index.php?/topic/31228-peterfs-14-scale-falcon-models-tiger-moth/&do=findComment&comment=726726 all do able with time , effort and trials😶🙂
  16. yes that looks the right way up ., but do you know the wing sections used/? to determine required angle of attack?
  17. if those datum lines are true to the section then it looks like you have wash in which is not a good solution. wash out is good and can be achieved by either angle of attack of wing section or increased camber for the out sections of the wing. you need to check sections used. your friend had obviously worked this out as he had mentioned it being wrong. ?
  18. well if you want a pro gun then this will do you well . mind you there are cheaper that work ok, i've got a mini one from lidl with 7mm sticks , it works ok but a bit inaccurate with glue application.(the nozzle needs to be longer)
  19. well a few things I've learnt for silver soldering apart from practice as posted earlier is, build a hearth to work on from Vermiculite sheet. clean where you need to braze well (stainless wire brush/emery/ pickle in citric acid etc) . have a precision flame on your torch . don't try to apply the silver solder before parts are both up to temp, you melt the solder with the parts to be soldered not the torch flame! For small parts I apply a bit of liquid to the area i need to solder then dip the part in the flux powder which sticks only on to the wet area (spittle I found to be very good for this) then solder. And importantly after wards clean the parts well to get the flux off by placing in hot water for 15/20min and then polishing /brushing off. there are other things to look out for too.
  20. well this is to be expected, pot life of west 206 slow hardener is 15 min at 25 c so not surprised that it went off in that time. It is actually hotter the ambient at the moment! We are so used to working at lower that optimal temperatures we do not realise the short time it can take, so get court out . and as said before spred it out thin on job to get extra work time
  21. Going by the picture a few posts above both antenna look to be on the same horizontal plane, this will have both aerials shadowed at the same time they need to be 90 degrees to each other move one to be vertical up or down and your problem should ( will )go away
