  1. I have the Bowman Sportsman, been lovingly restored right down to the fake aerial running over the back and with period SLEC fittings and 148 servos. Engine will be a TT54 Fourstroke once I get it running smoothly. Had a 48 Surpass but didn't have the power. I have the plan too, all be it faded somewhat. Cowl was smashed and its the last piece of the puzzle. The Sportsman was actually issued under a few brands from what I can see, Bowman Models, Olympic Models and Hegi. If anybody has a cowl I could borrow to make a mould.... 🙂
  2. Remind me next time to let the whole page load before diving in with questions... the answers were all there! Apologies. I blame this virus.....
  3. 'printed off a set of decals'. Those look superb, could you quickly run through how you did that? I have the same Silhouette cutter, how did you combine the two processes or was the cutter just used in the lift and place proceedure you showed? I tend to use the Silhouette for larger sized projects as the vinyl is a bit thick, can you recomend a thinner if thats what you used? Thanks, sorry for the interrogation.
  4. Just use the free one you set up with your Mac. Used macs all my life for work and these emails have never let me down. You can multiple variations too, again for free so you can manage sign-ups, shopping and personal. Easy... and free. I mean you paid enough...
  5.   Hi.Try Aerofly from the App store, been using it for a few years and its about as good as I have seen. Has a few ‘game’ features but the actual sim is excellent and there’s plenty of online sessions to join. Being an Art Director and linked with professional design and creative applications I’ve used a mac all my life, tried a PC and couldn’t get to grips with it. Of the people I have known who have gone to Apple very few have gone back so worth the effort. If you really miss Windows you can as has been said install a PC partition through Bootcamp and run a ‘native’ Windows PC and therefore all the sims it has to offer. You can pick up a USB adaptor for a few quid off ebay and configure for most makes of TX, Aerofly seems to support these adaptors without issue. Regarding video editing there are some of the Industries leading packages for the Mac and it is exceptional at this, as it is at image editing, design and audio production. The pre installed packages are are good start. Try adobe.com for a good range of applications if you are an advanced user.  Edited By BSR on 10/08/2018 22:11:01

Now have a Bowman Sportsman early 80's ready for fitting out and flying. Perfect. Thank you Michael!
  7. I agree! I bet they are refining... looking at their market research and user tracking information and only then improving the site to reflect it's popularity... second surely to paying to get into the NATS? Watch this space!
  8. Was (re... re... re) reading August 1989 RCM&E which had a short piece about closing the gates on the Sunday, with over 21,000 people visiting and 2,000 exhibitors and representatives attending.... I do remember it was the highlight of my year show-wise... I wonder if that was the peak of popularity for the trade show/ show in the UK? We do have Cosford and the like, do these match the broad range of models we saw there, flown and available to buy? (And made and designed in the UK!)

    Bowman Models

I have emailed model-plans as suggested, hopefully something will come up. This plane is really something from my youth, I always wanted one but funds and time never seemed to line up. Fingers crossed, if anybody has anything to chip in please do! However, if it did not fly well or the design was less than perfect.... please don't shatter my dream
  11. Hi, looking for a unstarted, started, plan or anything in between Bowman Sportsman? Its a low winger from the 70's-80's and possibly beyond? I have contacted Anglia Models and they don't seem to have the plans to hand anymore so casting further into the modelling pool! Please let me know what you have, Thanks.
  12. Seems his last 'hack' was a bellringers website. (http://www.iwillring.co.uk) Don't think the FBI need worry but it is annoying for us modellers...!
  13. How about this? ebay item: 251384834733 A MUST for collectors. Of cardboard boxes. Slightly grubby. He's honest enough to admit there isn't a kit in there though. But if you also collect offcuts of balsa....
