  1. Wow! As always, very comprehensive and informed advice. It looks like the Cameo 3 is the way to go for my needs so I'll get researching! Thanks to all and stay safe!
  2. Does anyone have any experience of vinyl cutting machines for our purposes? I'm intending to use one for producing airbrush masks and possibly for finished self adhesive decals for my own models do it doesn't need to be industrial grade stuff. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Pete
  3. Hi Maurice, Yes, you can certainly do that, but do check the polarity before plugging in!  Edited By pete taylor on 08/06/2020 15:24:44

  5. Memo to anyone hoarding toilet roll...
  6. Freewing F-4 dressed up in VF-11 "Red Rippers" colours. Awaiting stencilling and weathering.

Still loads of papers sold, news spots filling a empty news rota and gives them something to talk about. That's why I don't watch tv news, buy newspapers, it makes you wonder how much of it is actually real. Suppose when disasters such as 9/11, air crashes and natural disasters, The Media has a field day - sad, but true. It made it a good day to bury bad news though
  8. Posted by Paul Marsh on 24/12/2018 10:23:15: A Drone incident. It was an official drone flight and the drone operative informed the authorities. **LINK** That appears to be a perfectly legal drone operation. In the US there's a protocol known as MARSA (Military Authority Assumes Responsibility for Separation of Aircraft) that allows for low flying to take place without a flight plan being submitted and the military pilots involved take responsibility for avoiding other airspace users in these circumstances. I assume that there is a similar arrangement here in which case the reported incidend is a non-story.
  9. Things that make you go Hmm..... Given all of the recent talk of cyber/hybrid warfare, does anyone imaging for a moment that any government would admit to having a major part of it's infrastructure totally disrupted like this one was? It appears that Birmingham airport was subject to a "fault" with it's electronic flight plan system that caused a shut down for a couple of hours yesterday. Now we learn that there were no sightings or other evidence of a drone over Gatwick. Call me cynical if you like.... Edited By pete taylor on 24/12/2018 10:19:25
  10. Here's most of my current EDF fleet that all take off from grass with no problems other than the Canberra being a tad low slung for longer grass! The Avanti isn't shown, but we all know what that looks like
  11. Almost ready to let loose, here's my Dynam Gloster Meteor F8 for 2 x 70mm fans. It has to be said that the supplied power system and general quality are not the finest, but with 2 x12 blade FMS fans installed that I've had waiting for a suitable project for ages, a 6s setup using the existing 80A ESC's, twin elevator servos instead of a single one and an improved cockpit, things are looking up. The model is known to fly very well indeed with this setup, so I'm expecting great things! Finished in 74 squadron colours to represent one that my late dad actually worked on in 1954/5 at Horsham St Faith, Norfolk. He always said that real fighters are grey and green with silver underneath, but I like all silver ones A spot of light weathering and she'll be off! Got to convert them to jpgs Superb job Dusty, and a fast build too...I'm impressed. Dad would have been too as it sat around quite long enough!
  13. Thought I'd chime in here as someone who's used both OpenTX and the FrSky operating systems. I'm fairly new to the FrOS, but have to say that it's done everything asked of it so far with only a little bit of getting used to it. I've yet to transfer my all-singing, all-dancing glider programme over to the X10 with the FrOS, but apart from that it's done standard 6 ch models and deltas with ease.
