  1. Went into WH Smiths and their supply of RCM&E had a booklet about building with foam attached, my copy from subscription didn't. As I mainly build and fly foam I'm disappointed about this omission for subscribers. Will it appear for the April issue?
  2. I subscribe to the magazine but just been to WH Smiths and the copies on sale there have a 'Building in Foam' booklet but none given out to me as a subscriber. Would I be better off cancelling my subscription and buying from WH Smiths in future?
  3. My local model shop (Modelshopleeds) have advised me not to leave Li-pos charged overnight, what is the forums thought on this.
  4. Mike T, when I complained about the non-appearance of RCM&E I was told by someone on the forum that it must be the posts fault?
  5. Just got mine. Flicking through it I see that there's going to be a article on building with depron, this will be much appreciated.
  6. My copy has just turned up, many thanks. By the way, to those interested, my subscription is with ;Mytimemedia, not the Royal Mail.
  7. Don't know about people being branded 'naysayers' because there won't be a separate January issue, I've still not received this notorius 'Dec 20/Jan 21' so can't comment on the content.
  8. Postie been and gone, still no mag, can't see the point of subscription, could have got the magazine last week in the newsagent if I didn't have a subscription.
  9. Still no magazine? Is there any point complaining? Nothing from the editorial staff.
  10. KC it was on sale in my local newsagent on Friday. Last time this happened I ended up with 2 copies because the subscription copy came a few days after I bought one over the counter. As a pensioner I can't afford to buy the mag twice.
  11. If there's no chance of getting the Dec mag why can't they tell us. They could use a online communication to let us know, they could call it 'modelflying' or something. Before anybody tells me about the trouble people are having, I know, I'm not exempt. The last person I talked to was on the checkout at my local supermarket. If the shops can get the magazines why can't the subscribers?
  12. Just watched the postie go by, didn't stop, no mag. I wonder if they'll still have any left in the newsagents? What's the point of having a subscription?
  13. Still not got my copy yet, it's not the first time this year or last. I know it's hard times for the mag but it's hard times for me as well. I'm a pensioner who only flies electric and builds with foam/depron so there's often very little in the mag for me, I won't be renewing my subscription. The mag is available in the newsagents at the moment so there's no incentive to part with my paltry pension on a subscription. One last thing, it's hara (belly) kiri (slitting) but I think you might have meant seppuku.
  14. Just had to reset my password again as well?
  15. Still not received this months copy, this happens too often. If I go into town and it's in the newsagents, can you give me a good reason to bother with a subscription?
  16. All I know was that I had a 27 megs load of radio equipment, tx and rx which I could ill afford the replace for a few years.
  17. I just hope it's not going to be another scramble by a dire government to steal our frequencies. Remember when Thatcher stole 27 megs from us to give to the illegally operated 'citizen band' enthusiasts (whatever happened to that fad, I suppose mobiles took over).
  18. Ordered some carbon tubes from Hyperflite yesterday, received them today. Wow.
  19. Over the past couple of days I've been looking at kits and ARTFs, most seem to be 'out of stock'. Don't know if this and balsa shortage are connected?
  20. Ordered some batteries and charging adapter from 'ModelShopLeeds' 17th, received 18th before lunch. Can't get better than that unless you have your own TARDIS.
  21. Shouldn't they add the word 'vintage' to justify the price hike?
  22. Check against the manufacturers ratings then drop them by a healthy margin. Check your connections from esc to motor, whenever I've had a 'stuttering' problem it usually turns out to be a bad soldering joint either on the motor or the esc.
  23. Piers, I know you mean well but things haven't been easy for myself. Ten years ago a paraplegic friend asked me to help with her mother, they had been at that time friends of mine for thirty years, so naturally I agreed. It turned out that my friends mother had dementia and over the next few years the dementia progressed as it normally does and six years ago the care became too much for me on my own and my friend had to retire to look after her mother. Needless to say my flying became less and less as the dementia progressed until for the last two years I managed no flying at all. The mother passed away on 'Mothering Sunday', then lockdown started. I sometimes have meetings on Zoom and if I'm really lucking a skype one-to-one. With the lockdown being gradually lifted there's hope of meeting friend but most of them, naturally want to see their families before they want to see their 72 year old friend, so I'd be grateful if you'd keep your assumptions to yourself. Receiving the magazine is one of the small bright moments but as I fly electric only it is often irrelevant for me so £5.75 is often a waste of money because if there's not enough in the magazine, I won't be buying it from any newsagent.
  24. July issue stated: RCM&E, August 2020 issue on sale 24th July. I've not received my copy either or anything to say why the delay. Come on Kevin, give us a few answers. I'm moving more to cancelling my subscription than I am to renewing.
