The htp will be out on most afternoons in decent south Westerly wind at Titlington. Flown dunes at Alnmouth but access road is bad. Enrico. -

Just tried the link didn't quite work as expected. However if you scroll down to gliders, click on that then click on Beklemeto open 2011 it takes you to the page the link should have. Fen Edited By Flyingfen on 13/12/2011 08:48:59 -

It's the same here nearly every hill / mountain is covered by forests. However found out about this hill about 2 and a half hours drive away.Didn't manage to get there this year but definately going to have a couple of weekends there next summer. Check out the pics on page 2.According to the Bulgarians it doesn't matter which direction the wind is blowing there is always a hill face to slope off. Beklemeto Hope you had a great holiday and see you soon Fen -
I have carried batteries and chargers in my hand luggage. When going through security they just made me open my bag after being scanned to check exactly what was inside but after that let me through.

I have taken several models and radio equipment abroad by plane. I have always put all transmitters and models in the hold as you are limited in size for hand luggage. Also there may be security issues with carrying a radio transmitter on to a plane. My advice is to check with the airline before booking (as I did) as they all have different rules and various charges for additional bags or items. This can, in some cases make a very cheap flight much more expensive.

A little update from the Bulgarian branch of the HTP. Been to the first official model flying event of the year in Bulgaria at Kazanlak (2 and a half hours drive away, 2 day event so stayed in hotel overnight). weather was fantastic 25 degrees and met the chairman of the Bulgarian Federation of Model Flying. His name is Sotir and is also a Moderator of the Bulgarian version of this Forum modelistika.com (only try it using google translate). Anyway check out his photos from the weekend at the following link and see if you can spot me and my mustang. Quite a few people kept asking how Enrico was getting on with his new life in England. It's in Bulgaria Phil. I've just heard they are building a Bulgarian Greggs at the end end of the strip to try and tempt Craig to join Enrico on his journey. -

Found an old unused military airport less than an hours drive away. I know its not gliding but even kenny could take off and land on this runway (it's over a mile long) see video. Edited By Flyingfen on 12/03/2011 17:35:39 Edited By Flyingfen on 12/03/2011 17:37:30
