Building Brian Taylors Cessna 120
Dwain Dibley. replied to Dwain Dibley.'s topic in Build Blogs and Kit Reviews
Hello Chaps, it's been over a year and I'm still in the same place regarding flying as I was then. 🤣🤣 I'm gonna dust off the thermos, make some sandwiches, catch up and then see how the land lies. Hope you are all well BTW. D.D. -

Well done Tim,👍 no I haven't flown yet....I intend to get to the field when the weather warms up mate. I have a number of models to maiden so that should be interesting, not having flown for a while. I have been building motor cycles and push bikes since I retired, while I wait for the sun to come out. I do keep my eye on you lot too. D.D. -
Just paid up, nice and easy, but I noticed my op id is now due at the end of Jan, I only renewed it in July??? Oh Well D.D.

Cessna looks great Tim. Well done Matey. As for retirement, I have a great weight lifted off me, and as already said, the only thing I miss is my mates and the good people I have left behind. The a***holes I can do without quite easily. I need to get back into my modelling, but I have to thin out my hangar. This may happen due to my flying being rusty. LOL But a local swapmeet would be better. I look forward to talking to you lot more in the near future, Good to see you McG, and you G.G., and you David. D.D -

A bit late to the party, but here's mine. D.D. -
I forgot to mention that my CAA subs run from July to July, which is why I was invisible in December. I am happy to continue paying direct to the CAA in this manner. D.D.
-
I had the reverse experience, in that I tried to renew with my BMFA, but got replies of "cannot find you" etc, even tho my BMFA went thru ok. I waited for my CAA to run out and lo and behold I got an email from the CAA. I renewed with them with my original GBR number intact (second year). Prior to that I had a temporary number. A tad irritating but all turned out well. I agree with Geoff, the whole thing is a bit of a mess, but persevere and you will be ok. D.D.

How Many People Still Fly on 35MHz?
Dwain Dibley. replied to EvilC57's topic in General Radio Discussion
I use a Hitech optic6, I got from Sussex models, on some indoor stuff. Falcon models, which use an rx ( brick) with linear servos on board. I also have a KielKraft Spit, converted to RC with one of these. As above, even tho I have a channel checker, it is rarely used. ? D.D. -
yep, taken for granted the hinges will be scrap mate, always use new. leave the stumps in if needs be, as per Andys post, just move the hinges along to fresh balsa. D.D.
-
Can you pop the pins out D.F. ? Separate the surface, then dig out the hinges ? D.D.
