  1. Stunning , Simon; just the best , your attention to detail shows WOW What a beauty
  2. FANTASTIC !!!! You have to be over the moon with it, A beautiful Spit she looks great in flight
  3. Thanks all for the help ,I was beginning to think Martin had the solution turn the screen upside down but the prob seems to have been my choice of model ,The Spit was hopeless ,as were the other war birds and the wat 4 was useless at it too but the Beaver doe's it just fine from a half loop and push elevator stick up ,I still crash but I get level inverted flight for a short distance until I mess up with the ailerons but at least I will get it now with practise Thanks all for the humour and practical both were needed ,
  4. Well yes I certainly do need more practise advice is what I expected about how to do it , the pattern is nose in the dirt , and no it's pretty quick from inverting to hitting the dirt , I can do an invert dive and swing out to climb before I hit the ground , I think it must be elevator control in reverse that is my problem , Thanks fore the help John , I will just keep practising
  5. Had my Phoenix a couple of weeks now and loving it , great fun streamer cutting with 3 opponents really crazy ,I always get a good score not too sure that it tells the truth though as I always win best score is 1500 , anyway what I really want to know is how do I get my plane to fly inverted ???????? inverting is easy but keeping it inverted in level flight I just can't do ,it always crashes
  6. I have just got my first TX and Phoenix Sim ,I have zero experience it took me 4hrs. to get a nice take of and do a circuit ,landing is tricky but I hope to do better tonight ;I spent an hour with the landing tutorial so I think I should manage to takeoff ,circle and land tonight ,I think it's going to get my hands trained so I won't have to think about the controls and it will become 2nd. nature , but I wouldn't take a real plane up with out a buddy plugged into my TX while I get the confidence to solo
  7. Thanks Martin , BEB , and Alan .I got it sorted works great ; crashed 14 spits and lost 3 ,I can get it in the air and fly a circuit now , landing is another sad story but I will get it

I am trying to get my new DX8 to a phoenix sim It is asking ;( you have not selected a control profile from the system>controls menu ; Please open the system>your controls menu and select a control profile from the list)???? I have read the DX8 manual and can't find a control system???/ What am I missing here , if there is any one out there that has a clue what I am talking about can you please enlighten me as to how I do this , sorry to be so stupid my excuse is I am not up on RX's or sims . never had a RX or sim new to all this Thanks David
  9. Erflog your depth of knowledge never ceases to amaze me , how do you know so much technical info on the subject are you an engineer of some sort ?
  10. thanks Martin the quenching and bringing back to colour tempers the metal ,poor Shaunie took the temper out the wire so it became soft, quick cooling hardens the metal but can be brittle so heating again to the colour makes it springy again my dad served apprentice for a blacksmith , but thanks for the tip. He made me a hunting knife once and showed me how to temper it cherry red and quench this makes it hard but too brittle to keep a good edge as the edge becomes jagged easily so he heated to a yellowish and quenched in oil , it also gave it a nice blue colour. Thanks or taking the time to read and input always appreciated
  11. this is the tail section it takes on this shape gradually from F4 down to the tail
  12. Thanks Graham your a pal ,sorry about your teething probs. I will build the wings first ,I can't believe how much the balsa and ply come to it's not far of the cnc kit, no real saving buying from scratch never mind I want to do a scratch build on it ,it's gona be a warm up to Mick Reeves scale spit , Tony's is scale /sport I think so I can just have fun with it . Having had time to have a good look at the 45 in. spit it looks simple to make it look like a MK. XVI it will take a lot of weight of the back end. I plan to make former 5 more oval(egg shaped) put in a former between former 4 and 5 and one in after 5 making the fuselage more oval from F4 down to the tail and string them together then clad . I have picks of a XVI deconstructed and the back looks egg shaped in cross section from the back of the canopy to tail It's all good fun I hope you you get your spit sorted OK , Did you use 2 stroke or 4 stroke
  13. She doe's do look good I really like that blue , tail wheel is clever how it turns from the rudder. I have just got home to the new 62 1/2 in plans from RCM&E I was never too happy with the 45 in. and I do like yours so I splashed out My DX 8 and sim should arrive in a couple of weeks as they were out of stock , anyway I can work out my balsa and ply needed and send of to Balsa Cabin for the materials and start cutting my wing ribs and formers , as soon as it arrives , I just need to work out what servo's ,retracts, battery pack needed for receiver and the oleo's I will need so any advice on my list of requirements would help as I know nothing about servos retracts ect .
