    SBEC

Hi, I have an aether powered glider and the SBEC just stopped beeping between uses, it was OK the last time I used it about a weeks ago and then when I turned it on yesterday - nothing - the servos are all working so the power is getting through to it. I don't really understand any of the electronics so can anyone tell me, has it gone kaput/ or is there anything else I can try?
  2. Just setup the above and find that the elevator section on the side of the rudder away from the linkage does not travel up as far as the side next to the linkage by 5mm - has anyone had this or is it not a concern? This is on minimum throw, Thanks
  3. Hi, Does anyone know the angle of incidence of the wing on the Fledgling please? Thanks
  4. Hi, How do I increase flight time on indoor rubber, is it longer motor? larger rubber? just want longer motor run, thanks, Peter
  5. Hi, Just purchased a Libelle and the recommended zapagap CA but the ca says do not use on fabric or foam. Has anyone built one and did you use zapagap?
  6. I would love to believe none of this will affect us but as a glider flier who only goes out when the wind is suitable, trying to get an exemption at short notice for a specific location as an individual I can foresee being a problem unless the BMFA can get blanket clearance for these sites. But as they have the only one of these for a fixed site and as a well-respected organisation I doubt we will be able to. If that is the case, and I have been assured this applies from 1/08/2018, all glider fliers will have to restrict themselves to organised events, even retirees who can go any time. As someone else has stated we are a non-commercial group and the drone manufacturers are a huge possibly multi-billion pound lobby group
  7. Hi, Tried to fly my Aether yesterday but no motor, no beep from ESC. Removed motor today and still not working so I disconnected at and for some unknown reason I decided to set motor trim as low as it will go and now it seems to work. The ESC is a hobbyking 100a SBEC but I do not know the motor, the transmitter is a DX6i but I have never had to do this before, does anyone have any ideas or come across this before?
  8. Hi, I've been looking at the hyperflight Schloiderding spinthing and had some questions if anyone has bought and built one Peter
  9. I've just bought a used electric glider with a Hobbyking 100A SBEC fitted but can't seem to find any info on how to set the motor brake, does anyone have the info I need please?
  10. Hi, Does anyone out there make their own travelling boxes and/or wing and fuselage bags? Any help would be appreciated, Peter
  11. Hi, I've just bought a second-hand unflown Hobbyking Aether 3.7m electric glider and when I started to try building a travelling box I only just noticed the front section of the fuselage is not in line with the boom. As close as I can measure it is offset about 1degree to the left as you look from the front. Can anyone suggest what effect this will have on the performance under power? Thanks for any help. Peter
  12. Thanks to all for your replies, Peter
  13. Hi, Has anyone else had this happen to them and does anyone have an answer to what I might have done wrong please? I was flying my Gentle Lady in a breeze that was a struggle to get it to go forward without almost constant full down elevator. I did manage to get it up and out once and when I was trying again and as I put in left rudder to turn back across it went into a spiral dive and I'm sure I was pulling in up elevator but it completely ignored that and piled in at such speed it buried the nose block and shattered the wing and rudder and fuselage, not repairable. What did I do wrong, should I have done something different, not put in full up? Thanks Peter
  14. Hi, I have a plan for the Halcyon glider which has, I believe a modified Hirschel section, and wanted to know if there is any software which would accept outlines of the root and tip ribs and given the rib spacing would produce drawings of each individual rib. I have looked at Profili2 but it doesn't look as if it will accept pictures of the section and I don't have any accurate data for the section, just the plan. Peter

    Hk altimeter

Hi, Is there anyone else who, like me, is not a computer whizz ,with a 64 bit windows7 system who has found the amount of computer knowledge needed to get the flight info from the HK Altimeter onto the computer too much to understand and if so did they find a way around it or like me think it's not worth the effort?
