  1. Sorry Tom and eveybody else, the model never got finished, it is in storage. I have since moved house and not even flown anything for over 12 months. I might come back to the hobby when I get chance between a hectic job, 3 kids and renovating the house.
  2. Get a Frsky then you can get / make a Spektrum module to put in the back, that's what I have done and then you can fly all of your models from one TX
  3. Apparently CML distribution are a UK importer for EXHobby so you might be able to ask them about spare parts?? http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/brands/volantex Edited By WolstonFlyer on 17/06/2017 09:50:27
  4. Haha, true. Things change rapidly in China http://www.exhobby.com/brands/volantexrc
  5. It is made by a company in China called VolantexRC Ltd, who were previously called Lanyu RC.
  6. Are you trying the number here? **LINK** https://www.fedexuk.net/accounts/track.aspx     Edited By WolstonFlyer on 23/05/2017 19:28:11
  7. Wow, very nice Chris. So who are you going to trust for the test flight?i Edited By WolstonFlyer on 13/05/2017 18:27:52
  8. I agree with Pete, every magazine subscription I have ever had starts with the next months issue after you subscribe, they don't post out a single copy of the current month to the new subscriber, they add you on the distribution list for the next issue and bulk postage drop. This website says the next issue is out on 14/4/17 so I would expect you to receive that one as the first issue on a new subscription. Edited By WolstonFlyer on 25/03/2017 10:24:51
  9. I could cry, I am moving away from the area next week from Coventry to South Somerset
  10. My build has been stopped for a while Chris, I am in the middle (well closer to the end) of selling and moving house, it's a big move with 3 children and lots of 'stuff' to move to the other end of the country. After moving I will have my very own garage or 'La Grotte' , it needs a bit of work ( a new roof and doors) so once that is done and I have insulated it etc I can have my own workshop for building things Happy birthday for Today
  11. Hi Chris, for testing servos one at a time ( as normally done with a servo tester) yes a small 5V 1.5A DC supply will work fine, just get the polarity correct. Alternatively use a low cost 4.8V to 6V receiver pack or 4x AA battery holder with servo plug attached. I personally use an old 4x AA NiMh rechargeable pack (4.8V) for doing servo testing and powering up receivers etc, e.g **LINK** or **LINK**
  12. Ah, you went for the extra LED, very nice I didn't bother on mine.
  13. Just a note to say the remaining kit of parts for the circuit has sold.
  14. I have one remaining full set of parts to make up a Spektrum module, you will need the RF board from a DX5e and a suitable case such as the DM9 available from here **LINK** I can post the kit inside the UK for £15 , I can't go lower than that because of the cost of the PCB from the USA, the postage was expensive. The kit includes PCB and components to solder on as shown in this picture:   After you have soldered it together, the only tricky bit is the 12 pin socket for the RF board where the pins are quite close together, but it's not too hard.   Shown here with the RF module plugged in to the socket. 15. Disabled Parking Bays on private property have NO standing in law, so it depends where they say you were parked, if they cannot provide evidence of the alleged parking then I would ignore them, unless this is a ticket issued by the council it is a 'parking charge' and not a fine. I am not a legal expert but know lots of people that have ignored the tickets and nothing has happened after they received 3 nasty threatening letters.
  16. I am sure the hydrogen fuel cell will never happen.
  17. I have an older (08 Reg) Diesel VW Sharan automatic at the moment, no DPF. When I eventually get rid of it I will be going to petrol or possibly electric if Tesla keep making improvements.
  18. Happy new year - I am off to cook dinner and get slightly tipsy.
  19. Just imagine something like this hovering over a city and having a technical problem - what a bonkers idea
  20. No not made any progress recently, I am flat out with work, 3 kids and trying to sell my house at the moment. I did join the wings together and build the wing tips, I have to do the sheeting next.
  21. Hi Chris, I am still here reading your blog when I get chance, it is looking great!
  22. Apparently he has moved house, here is the 2016 version Edited By WolstonFlyer on 28/12/2016 15:30:07
  23. Directly from Microsoft FAQ's https://www.visualstudio.com/vs/faq/ Q: Community Edition is telling me my trial has expired. Do I have to pay for Community edition? A: No, Community edition is free to use. We use the same infrastructure that allows you to unlock VS w/ an online subscription to manage the requirement of signing into Community edition so some of our strings overlap cross these scenarios. Trial here means the period you can use the community edition before you must sign in to fully unlock the IDE.
