  1. I am quite interested in building a Value Planes Tiger Moth as I have an OS GF40 petrol doing nothing. I read somewhere that the wing sweep on the top wing was insufficient to be scale. Is this the case?
  2. I have an Angel 50S with Hacker A50 V3 motor and Hacker ESC with elevator servo (JR8231) in the tail and rudder servo (closed loop) behind the wing tube. With the battery (6s 5000mAH) I can balance at 145mm, but I believe the CofG is further aft than this to give me the handling I want. I would test fly at 145mm using lead on the firewall and then see how it handles.
  3. Perhaps a specialised auction is the best place to sell them: https://www.gildings.co.uk/aeromodel-engines/ Gildings are a face-to-face auction plus online, so will attract the right clientele i.e. collectors.
  4. The Spitfire looks awesome, but why such a short test flight/session?
  5. I was wondering how many people went? The weather over the weekend was not ideal - Saturday was very wet and Sunday quite windy.
  6. Prosynth fuel Is very much a Marmite issue. Those who use it seem to like it and those who don't use it, don't! I have used Prosynth with 2-strokes without any issues. Jon, do you use Laser 5 with 2-strokes, or don't you play with 2-strokes?
  7. Thank you all for your feedback.
  8. I wonder what I'm doing wrong. Out of interest: Paul do you mount/orientate the Kavan pump as per your picture?
  9. I have used Kavan fuel pumps for a quite a few years. However, I've got through 3 in the last 12 months or so. My current pump has started to aerate the fuel so the pump rate is abysmal. Has anyone else experienced issues with Kavan pumps? What other fuel pumps are there that are potentially more reliable? Should I go mechanical? Any experience/advice appreciated. BTW I use a Jersey Modeler fuel caddy for petrol and have had no problems.
  10. My experience with a 3w 28i would suggest 18x10 or 19x8 would be a good choice for your DLE 30. Clearly, it depends on airframe and also there are variations in makes of propeller. I tried a Mejzlik !8x10 on Acro Wot XL, but found to my surprise that a Menz S 18x10 performed better. I would use a 19x8 on the Jungmann as already recommended.
  11. I defended myself in a speeding case (camera van) in court and was found guilty of doing 31mph in a 30 and fined £200 😞
  12. Yes as per ES's post I also use piece of tubing over tube to secure. Silicon for glow and Tygon for petrol. These days I use Tygon to secure quick links in preference to fuel tubing - it doesn't split/degrade.
  13. Yes - using underside engine bolts was recommended years ago (early radio + free flight) to protect engine lugs from breaking off in the inevitable crash 😞 These days our equipment is significantly more reliable and hopefully we all crash less often 🙂
