  1. Ah, what memories! 1994...ish LD40s from the Newman Precision kit I suspect. Not many of these left now. I guess the new rules would suggest this design is now ok to fly in Classic events...? 22 years gone in a flash! Looks very nice indeed. Hi Mike; just to say Chris Olsen also won the Nat's with his Upset II in 1967
  2. Hi there, finished very similar to the original I believe. Dynamix is a great 'sensible' carb & very easy to set. Pumps, very rarely reliable in my experience however. I suspect it's a perry or maybe robart? Dynamix will work fine on manifold pressure. Ensure compression is good bearings are quiet.
  3. Just to let you all know my 2013 Upset advertised above has now been sold to another Classic Aero member. Looking forward to watching it flown during the coming season. TW
  4. Not seen it on ebay. I presume there are some expensive servos installed for the higher price. But still, £80 with U/C....? Is it heavy maybe? (if it's paint all over)
  5. Spring air retracts 'were' (1980's) around £100. Still got a set or two, new, awaiting a model appropriate..
  6. Thx for your comments Martyn. I thought I'd adv it here first, most appropriate area & I'd prefer the model to stay with the Classic Aero fraternity. In the future it'll be listed elsewhere.
  7. So, it's not £80 all in Hangar 9.....? I've only noticed the one price.
  8. Yes, Bob, loadsa work for the money too. I've still got your plans stored safe, so whenever you need them, let me know. It's a very cold day here & I'm thinking....which classic to build next.....
  9. Correct Hangar 9, the canopy is not as original. But attaching the canopy well is not an easy task for most. I suspect the cowl is not fitted either, probably due to the FS110 installation. Hope the servos are at the back as that motor will encourage a nose heavy situation. However, all that for £80...............
  10. & with retracts Bob! At 6' long it's the IIs, most effective of the 60 size, but best powered by the Webra 80 or similar.
  11. Just noticed this; there's over £150 worth of materials in that model! However, the rules for UKCAA require nothing post 1996 (2 metre). Good rule as it constrains costs. A bargain at £150 & I do believe it's flight capability is 'adequate'.........
  12. I have now finished my latest version of this design (Upset II 2016) & my faithful 2013 example is now available. 5.5lb AUW. 62" span. Merco 61 used. Airframe only, fixed U/C. More Pictures on the UKCAA website. Best offer secures. Currently in full flight trim. PM with offers.
  13. Hmm, firstly thank you 'Owdlad', PCM10 it is indeed & still working fine! I have not thought setting throttle trim midway, but that'll be on the menu over the weekend, (on the 2.4). PCM10 needs no fussing around, just fit & run. Disable throttle trim....? Servo tester ordered. No expo, don't use it. The Tx is new & most is still Inhibited, as factory set. I will try another channel, just for curiosity. Thank you Gangster, you seem to know your PFM from PCM I see.
  14. Ok; plugged in a servo to throttle to check throw & yes, less throw on the 2.4 set. Not significant I would have thought however, around 5 degrees. Some of this 'missing' throw was gained by adjusting throttle trim, as advised above. For an IC motor 5 degrees would have little impact at top end. I then tried to 'fool' the esc by reducing the EPA & travel by 10%. Re-programming & then re-adjusting travel back up. I seem to have improved things by around 400 rpm, but still not the 800 I was looking for. I'll keep trying, learning this strange thing called EP.....maybe 2.4 also....
  15. Servo is all I have at present....but I am seeking tester for future issues, both with esc & servos. The tacho reading is very stable & consistent, so I would think Tx will not be causing the problem. It's gotta be esc 'throw' surely. But why...........
