  1. Yes it would , but I was just curious to see if there were any alternatives , I already have a velocity given to me by one of my flying colleagues who smashed the front end off , so I'm trying to repair it , but always curious to see what else is available if anything
  2. Just had a look at it , I'm wondering if my engine other tuned pipe may be a bit much for it
  3. Anyone know where I can get hold of a delta kit suitable for a Weston 50 with pipe
  4. Thanks Bob just ordered one of those from JE , i also asked them about a petrol conversion , and they said a lot of people have converted the saito to petrol , with no significant loss of power I will be converting at the end of the summer with the kit JE supply
  5. i am foremost a petrol engine guy , but bought a saito 125a , and i'm having a right old time getting a spinner for this engine i bought a plastic spinner with an aluminium back plate which lasted three flights , on the fourth it exploded while using the starter i then bought an aluminium spinner , with the usual single bolt through the centre , but it wont fit as the sujpplied adapter nut will not screw on the crank far enough can someone point me in the right direction for a spinner for this engine , spinner needs to be no bigger than 2.5 inches , and its to go on the seagul glasair , which by the way i maidened last weekend and its a joy to fly
  6. Thanks guys the motor is already run in , by the guy i bought it off Compression is very strong , and as you say that kick back is severe , i cant use a starter at present as i don't have a spinner , tried reversing the rubber insert on my starter to fit on the prop nut but it just chewed it up

  8. Had it running for a full tank , takes some starting by hand though Could i put a 16x8 prop on the saito , only reason i ask is it's the only prop i have available, i did have a master screw 16x6 but it kicked back when starting onto my stick and took a chunk out of the blade
  9. i knew i should of stuck with petrol and bought a two stroke
  10. It's already in the model Justin as per opening post
  11. Cheers cymaz , I've just ordered that , can't do no harm
  12. When i put my finger over the carb or exhaust , the fuel is drawn up into the carb , but it drains back down the pipe again , it doesn't stay there
  13. i've just bought a saito 125a fs ,and installed it in a seagull glasair , the tank came with the model , and has a built in mount in the fusalage where i have duly installed it the engine is mounted horizontal as per the manual , but the fuel supply from the tank is approx 2 1/2 inches below the carb i have not got any experience of fourstroke glows , only two strokes glows , and petrol engines would this cause a problem , if so is there any type of pump i could use , and where could i get one
  14. all sorted , i put the flaps on a Y lead ,giving me one channel spare (ar8010t) which i re-assigned to rudder , all works perfect , just waiting for a saito 125a to arrive in the next two days
  15. I'm busy installing servs into this seagull glasair i bought recently, in total the model will have eight servos , i am going to use a spektrum ar8010T RX , the manual states the tailwheel has its own servo which operates the tail wheel via a pull pull normal arrangement my question is how do i steer this tail wheel , do i Y lead it with the rudder servo (rudder servo and tailwheel servos are not the same ), it seems a bit overboard to me , what are your thoughts could i not just fix the tail wheel so it doesnt turn at all
  16. i'm quite suprised at how small the glasair is , maybe i was expecting too much
  17. Posted by simon barr on 05/04/2017 16:57:22: John, did you sus out your servos as per your previous inquiry in your last post about this model? We never heard back.... yes simon , i'm using mcgregor hv servos , the model certainly doesnt need them , but i have them sitting in my drawer so i might as well use them
  18. thanks for the info , i tried the motor on the model , and its just too big physically , the prop washer would stick out from the cowl by 25mm ! and its too heavy and powerful , i think it would shake the airframe to bits
  19. hi everyone , i need some guidance please i have a ngh 30cc fourstroke , and a seagull glasair which would take a 120 sized fourstroke , the os 120 weighs 1000g and the ngh 30cc fourstroke weighs 1265g the approx wing loading of the glasair is 35oz per foot , and the wingspan is 71 inches , would it be possible to install the ngh in the seagull
  20. anyone know what servo this requires ,on kings lynn models website it just says 8 servos ? its 120 fourstroke size , 71" span
  21. thanks denis , by pottering about i dont mean walking pace stuff , just something different from the all out aerobatic models i have at present , i'm also getting an evolution bipe v2 off my mate who pranged it last weekend and cant be bothered to do the repairs which really dont add up to much , so looking forward to that too
  22. has anyone got any experience with the NGH GF 30cc engine , if so whats your opinion / horror story i'm flying a yak 55cc and a pitts python 55cc at the moment , but was looking at the seagull glasair from kings lynn models , just for something to potter around with ,and ive been eying up this ngh to put in it
  23. Posted by Jon Harper - Laser Engines on 22/01/2017 09:25:42: Without doubt quality of the hinges is a critical factor. I use the great planes ones where possible and have never been let down. I also use the hinges that come with my YT models without issue. My YT La7 is entering its 7th season and that model gets quite the spanking when I fly it. The only hinges on the model that are giving me concern are the rudder hinges which are the robart type and have started to get some play in them. I am monitoring them and will replace when I think they are becoming unsafe. Given that control surface sizes, deflections and loads on warbirds are quite small good quality cyano hinges will be just fine if you use enough and install them correctly. For a 3d model of the same size they aren't much good as you not only cant get the travel range you need but control surface loads are quite a bit higher So how do i define good quality in a mylar hinge Jon , are the black horse mylar hinges good quality ?
