  1. Try reducing throws Alan, the set may be giving more than previous one. John
  2. A bit more reassuring from me Victor It will get easier, no doubt about it, using engines is easy to pick up, me I followed makers instructions, worked for me. Props ? again recommended ones works for me, it gives a varied selection to suit your type of model. Had dozens of them found them easy to use and reliable. John
  3. Hows about something relating to shows, why do you go ? what do you enjoy ? club or commercial ? John
  4. A bit late Kev What's the verdict on the H.K. servo's you used ? John
  5. Yes I agree And now I know why glass cowls cost a bit quite a bit of work involved. John

  9. My feelings are don't worry about those that don't turn out for events, meetings etc. Better men than myself have tried to generate enthusiasm amongst them. If they just want to fly...no problem, concentrate your efforts on those that want to do a bit more John
  10. First outdoor meeting of the year (chippy night) free delivery order came to £106 gave us a discount, meal was lovely. Weather was good, 20 attended out of 60, loads flying, bit of night flying later. All jovial, no whingeing Do club business whilst their mouths are full, no objections or complaints give it a try the mood's much better. John
  11. Some good camera work there folks, thanks a lot, like the big fella carrying glider and the mid air is a great catch, sad but good picture. John
  12. Impressive kit Trevor, some work and enjoyment in store I like the red and silver scheme, it looks classy. John
  13. I am building a Nieuport so I was curious as to how much Thanks Tim
  14. I went to the meeting on Friday night to request help with the cost of toilets for our open weekend. We arrived a little late and missed some of the conversation. What we got was a paper written by the East Anglian Area committee, its in reply to a paper written by a gentleman to the General Council... entitled "Have the Areas passed their sell by date ? Also some suggested solutions have been put forward ?? also the role of the Technical committee's is being questioned. What's going on ? it was also said that club Chairmen would have received a copy of this, anybody had it ? It may be that I have misunderstood some of this so if anyone could enlighten me I would be grateful. John
  15. I remember the mojo story Tony, you had us all looking for it Walking away is no good mate, get down to the field and sort it. You paid your money, go flying and take your mojo with you. John
  16. You're a tidy builder Levanter, good luck with the op John
  17. You have me confused now lads I don't have a set yet, nor is it putting me off. How can you be getting weak signal indicators on 2.4 ? I thought it hopped about to cure this and make it safe ? maybe I missed something or failed to understand. Has it already hopped whilst it's telling you ? I still fly 35mhz so sorry if it's a daft question. John
  18. Unless you have a internal pump on the engine, I would fit tank forward and just accept a little elevator trimming as tank empty's, am told that cline pumps are o.k. but have no personal experience of them. John
  19. Thanks folks I think I will draw one up 70 inch, keep it light and simple, and allow enough room to uprate the motor if needed So what do you think I need incidence wise, tailplane and wing ? Zero on tail ? +1 on wing ? I have done quite a few home builds, never done a glider though. The aim is to fly throttle off mostly, motor's just to gain height. So am I anywhere near or talking rubbish John
  20. I know we have lives as well as hobbies, but it amazes me why more don't fly in the evenings. The wind drops off and conditions are perfect, and the field to yourself. John
