  1. Hi Ian, I did get some, I sent an e mail to cloud models as they produce the kit. They kindly sent me a PDF copy of the plan and instructions. They are on my PC at work so if you want to send me your e mail address I'll send them on to you on Monday Cheers Martin
  2. I have mine now ready for its maiden flight which hopefully will be Friday. I used Ripmax Quartz 501 servos all round except the throttle which is a JR 591. I have an ASP 180 2 stroke up front and needed 40g on the tail to balance.
  3. Could anyone help me out with a copy of build instructions for the Galaxy mustang? I have just acquired a kit part built but it only has a 2 part fuselage plan with it.
  4. Mine has now had a couple more flights and on the motor prop combination it certainly does not hang around. It has quite a pitch change from half to full throttle. But to be honest you don't need full throttle very often
  5. I have just got in from my maiden flight, which didn't go quite according to plan. The PC climbed away superbly and after a bit of trim adjustment it was flying superbly. Plenty of power for almost endless vertical climbs and plenty of speed. A few low passes and general flying and I lined up for a landing. On a low approach across some growing wheat and I caught the wingtip on a longer than the rest piece of wheat which ended in a cartwheel that knocked the nose off. The damage is easily repairable and most was done by the departing lipo. 10 minutes with some cyano and a bit of film and it will be back in the air. The motor prop combo is about right, plenty of power for half throttle flying most of the time and full throttle gives good acceleration away from a hand launch. despite the little hiccup I am very pleased.
  6. I am still to fly mine, it sits in the garage all ready to go. I might try to get out this afternoon as I am off work i and it seems to be a nice day coming. I'll report back later
  7. My pushycat is now ready except final balance check, all I need is this weekend to be reasonable weather wise and it is off to the field to fly it. And if I can work out how to post a photo from an iPad I will. The 28/26-6 2200kv motor, 6x4 prop and 3s lipo seems to give an awful lot of power. Only time will tell. thanks to everyone for their advice and help.
  8. Mine should be ready to cover this weekend, just need to find a piece of styrofoam at work tomorrow to shape the canopy from. Then as long as Hobbyking deliver my ESC I should be ready to maiden the following weekend. I haven't decided on a colour scheme yet, that will have to wait to see what solar film the shop has in stock. I am thinking along the lines of a 1990's F1 car. The question is Willuams or Mclaren?
  9. Having read this thread with a fair amount of interest I do not understand the issue about the A certificate. As an examiner and instructor I have always used the A schedule as a basis for any training. It teaches full control of any model in both directions, if I have one criticism of it, it would be that it does not cover a stalled model. The silent flight electric A test does and you actually have to stall a model and recover smoothly. If a club insists on an A to fly solo then that is their prerogative and you either tow the line or move on. And to be honest if you can take off, fly circuits in either direction and land then where is the issue with the A test anyway.
  10. Sorry, I am not sure I was very clear, I am going to use F4 but just move it forward by the length of the motor, I might carry the sides and top decking over to cover the can leaving the bottom open for cooling.
  11. My plan arrived today and I have glued the wing panels together. I have a question about the motor mount. I planned to put the out runner motor out in the breeze so should I shorten the fuselage by that amount? I was going to move F4 forward by 20mm or so.
  12. Is there any reason why you cannot take the Silent Flight (Electric) A test? I did many years ago as the club I was flying with wanted you to hold the relevant A certificates for whatever you were flying. This was despite holding a fixed wing examiner qualification.
  13. Thanks again, I have loads of 2200 3s as I have a Wot 4 foamie so I think a motor similar to yours will be the order of the day. I have looked at a Turnigy 2826-6 2200kv
  14. Thanks John, i'll need some advice on motors soon, nearly all my planes have glow engines. I did think about a .10 or .15 on the back
