  1. Boy, am I glad I don' t do scale, and am partly color blind. I always looked at building and flying as my fun 😉 Ray.
  2. Foam versus built up wings ????? I tend to do built up foam wings Ray
  3. Add lightness and internal props, not fans Ray.
  4. Always only add lightness, and bigness- Ray.
  5. Hi Brian, thanks for the comments. I think the frustrations stem as much from myself as any other thing, like working to here by using posted on times. Why no end/last of post.or have I missed that, (RCG seems so easy. Ray. Health is another factor. I could also go on about all the things I have tried over my 80 years, 70 of them model related. Hope this works -- http://www.eflightray.x10host.com/
  6. Ok' I give up. I had already decided to give up model building and flying. Regulations, BMFA etc I have now decided to also give up this forum and just stick with and stick with RCGroups. Having 'accidently' found a post that looked like it could be worth following, I loose it and the then dates seem to jump to a different year. I have a load of models to get rid of, and plus, spares. ( cheap to free, but need to be collected, no one seems to be willing to show what part of the country they are even in, for me to even contact similar fliers/builders, for me to offer some models they can have. So I have just decided the Disney channel is probably easier to navigate (less frustrating) than the rcme mickey mouse. Ray (Yes,old, and more and more frustrated. It's just not enjoyable
  7. Fit short servo extension leads and have the connections in a convenient place, or at least long enough to draw the wing out far enough to disconnect the servo leads. Or add a hatch somewhere as you're using screws to hold the wings on .
  8. I gave up on 'Z' bends and went over to a single bend and a wire keeper. Made it easy to disconnect a pushrod. Also added a zig-zag bend if the pushrod needed any length adjustment, but then that was back in my single channel days. Ray
  9. Spend money ? 🙄 Use what you have. A bit of thin ply and double sided tape. On my 82" span Vulcan. Ray
  10. North Wales ?, watch some low-level flying of the A400 on youtube, or possibly for real at the 'Mach Loop', it cant be too far away. Ray.
  11. I forgot to put this video on the system https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8CxWBmLOW4 Ray
  12. It was built 'sort of' to the plan, I build light enough to not normally worry about washout. It's on youtube, (and others ), search under eflightray Ray.
  13. I scratch built a TN Spitfire from the free plan given away with a RCM&E magazine Autumn 2010. The plans said 70" span and possible 15 Lbs with a 1.20 four stroke. I prefer electric, lightweight. Mine came out at 7 Lbs - 2 oz with batteries (6s), built in 2012 using mostly Depron foam, and came out at72" span. Flies beautiful, fully aerobatic, (Spitfire like), has retracts, flaps, and is still alive after 10 years, sadly I don't owing to health reasons. So my recommendation, - build them light, no matter which warbird you choose and you will have a big grin every time you go flying.
  14. Speed isn't everything, (remember my EDP MIG, in my avatar), as long as it sits right, and looks right,- 'slow', (to some), show off jets at their best, as in the 'real world' air shows etc. Nice one. Now for a bigger, bigger one, ........ with EDP ? Ray.
  15. Build light, (low wing loading) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqDJnCiYDV4 Darn video picture not appearing again .
  16. All my biggish models have detachable wings to make life easier for transport. On my Sunderland I made the outer wing panels detachable, so there is very little in the way of assembly, even the aileron servos are in the center section, which is removable from the fuz, (4 nylon screws). I also prefer to have the batteries in the fuselage, (B17 and Lancaster). Ray.
  17. Nice Sunderland, they always look so good on the ground, or flying, majestic. Getting them off the wet stuff, and back down again can be a bit worrying, ( if you can't walk on water ). Just looked up some of my Sunderland's pictures and video's, good grief it was over 10 years ago. Ray. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6j06opQtp4
  18. Doesn't meet the requirements regarding wheels, but flies well off water or grass. Ray (eflightray) .
  19. A bit late, but wasn't the emblem the "Fist and Sparks" ?, a Google images search should find plenty. Sorry, if I'm thinking of the wrong one. Ray.
  20. Now you've made me do some digging, those photos were taken in 2009. I found the original thread back in RCGroups, which I tend to use most. Here's the link -- https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?1091201-Oh-not-another-A-10-The-Video Post #4 gives some info. I still have the model, so if anyone cares to drive to Wales, (near Neath) they can probably have it, as I have given up flying. Ray.
  21. Ok, so I usual tend to cheat a bit when it comes to scale, it's about how it looks when in the air to me. Ray
